More summertime concerts would bring more money for the community.

Screwing the community, that is going to be asked to pay most of the bill, just because some fans want football outside is ridiculous.

People like you should just get you a USFL/XFL team, let them play at your local Johnson County soccer field, and stop acting like a privileged baby.

Oh, tell me more. It's nice you're speaking for a community who hasn't voted for this. Please project more on what taxpayers are looking to spend money on.

And I'm the privileged baby yet you're the only still complaining about a playoff loss from nearly 30 years ago because of weather that's colored your thoughts on the roof.

Football/baseball stadium concerts suck... it's the Peacock playoff game of concerts. That's what the downtown arena is for.

Bearcat 01-14-2024 10:00 PM

I definitely don't like the thought of the elements equalizing games when some shit team would otherwise have little chance... but, I also can't think of a Mahomes playoff game where that happened.

I mean, we're currently talking about a game that took plays in 1995.

Chiefshrink 01-14-2024 10:09 PM

NFL brass is getting soft and also greedy and why this happened. This doesn't happen back in the day. Total horse crap! But the networks own the product now and it's all about money. Got to protect the product.

It's all about not giving the Bills or Steelers more than 1 day less rest than their opponent.

If the Steelers win, we get more rest than the Ravens.

It's a pretty reasonable construct.

Not afraid of Baltimore one bit! The way our defense is playing and Spags already defeating Lamar twice now with a better defense Lamar's head will be spinning. Give me Baltimore all day.

Because it's a dumb, misinformed opinion.

The SB is held in a covered stadium because it's a corporate event to showcase the NFL's product more than it's about the fans. That's not the case for any of the other playoff games.

This isn't hard to understand. Chiefs players relished playing in the elements last night.

Also players are much more prone to injury in the cold weather. Do you want our players to get hurt? We argue about whether to have turf or grass yet we make them play in -30 wind chill. We argue that they shouldn't have so many preseason games or a 17th game because of player safety. Its not consistent thinking.

When the metrodome collapsed 2010 , the Vikes played at TCF where the gophers played.

The building has been winterized and was shut down. The field did not have heaters under the turf, because it was not expected to be used that late in the year. (should have-see Iowa/Minn 2009, but that is another story)

It had to be cleaned, snow taken out, toilets fixed and un winterized, lines thawed, etc etc. It was a massive undertaking. They paid people to clear the stands and gave away tickets.

The field SUCKED.

As if playing on turf is not hard enough.....

Its a turf field. If the sun is out these fields can heat up fairly quickly. Even if only in the teens direct sunlight will heat it enough to melt any ice/snow.

Interesting... I see those TNT games. The NHL does the same thing today and on Columbus Day with afternoon games, but no one cares so it's usually just ESPN+.

I did notice the Sabres are playing in Buffalo right now... I guess that's not a bad Monday for some folks. Dig out the car, catch an early hockey game, dig out your car again, go smash some folding tables, catch a football game, dig out your car, head home.

Good lord. Can you imagine somebody paying top dollar for a seat to a playoff game and having to deal with THAT? Especially if your seat is in the middle of a section. Assuming the snow's not completely solid at this point, where are you going to move it?

Seems like it would have been much easier to tarp the seating area than deal with the ramifications of this bullshit. And imagine what will happen if anybody dies in the process of digging out a seat.

ptlyon 01-15-2024 12:28 PM

I need to start looking at tarp investment options

You would think it's never snowed in Buffalo before.

tk13 01-15-2024 12:33 PM

The real question is the over/under on how many drunk Bills fans throw snowballs toward the field.

Seriously. They're handling this like southerners who got blasted by a freak snowstorm.

The should change their name to the Buffalo Clowns, with two big shoes on either side of the helmets as a logo.

I found one that might work, but their Lake Erie counterparts might get mad.

I'm going with "all of them"

Frazod 01-15-2024 12:44 PM

I guess we'll learn this afternoon if dildos can be used effectively as snow shovels. LMAO

It’s because they got killed in the snow by the Bengals last year. Governor bailed them out yesterday.

Chiefnj2 01-15-2024 12:49 PM

What’s the over under on 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalties for snowballs thrown on the field?
