Not much to talk about.
Cincy going to lose . . . . Bigly. |

No receiver in the top 50 in the league, best running back well outside the top 10 and while both Tight Ends are good neither of them is top 5 in the league. Allen is going to have to cook with even worse ingredients than Pat had last year. |

I believe it's a philosophical thing where his style of defense for whatever reason puts a lot of pressure on the back seven because they try so damn hard to just keep the QB in the pocket and do not really rush them in a way that gets the ball out of their hands fast. On the flip side, I feel like his defense is really ****ing hard on pocket QBs (see his success vs. Brady). |

It’s also one of the reasons I hope we play the Lions in the SB. Patrick will hear for two weeks how he’s never beaten Goff. And he will take that shit PERSONALLY! |
I hope Danna and or FAU burns the artist formerly known as Orlando Brown over and over

The only thing I fear is Jumpball Joe completes like 90% of those garbage 50 50 hero balls against us. It's so lame.

Burrow isn't himself after that injury and his OL is still trash. This will be a statement game.
Also a win here basically knocks Cincy out of the running to get the one seed. Time to cook the kitties early. |

Bit concerned about Suamataia going against Hendrickson. Hopefully if he's struggling Reid gets some help over there quick. Or just give him constant chip help off the rip from Kelce and Gray.

Bengals put pressure on Jacoby Brissett on 44.8% of his dropbacks, and nearly half of those came solely from Hendrickson. The rest of their DL ****ing sucks now, so chip and double team that dude into irrelevance.

It's always been bullshit. Do what we do. And what we do is NOT running the football. The Bengals pass rush ain't the '86 Bears. Hendrickson isn't even Maxx Crosby. Run a couple screens out Hendrickson's way and we'll be fine. Run our offense. |

Bengos have no idea what is coming. |
This is why you get "coach speak" from the Chiefs. They've won more than any team in the league the past decade and you just don't hear that kinda stuff from them.
It's just dumb. |

Known shut-down corner Cam Taylor-Britt out there running his mouth.
Can you imagine Jaylon Watson doing that shit? Dude, I know you're not used to folks putting microphones in your face on account of being irrelevant, but you don't HAVE to say stupid things when they do. |
I actually think the Chiefs should run the ball a few times right at Hendrickson. He was really really bad (like Dee Ford bad) over pursuing his rush leaving his run lane wide open and the Patriots just kept running his way and exploiting him.
Just takes 2-3 carries his way to force him to stay disciplined. Then you do play action or RPO to freeze his rush bc he’s thinking about the run |
Quote:
That D was so bad Andy simplified the playbook and we thrashed them on pure talent. Still couldn't score in the RZ but Mahomes was cooking. |
Hendrickson's probably just stat chasing for his new team and contract.
|
Quote:
I think you can give him some of the treatment they give Nick Bosa. Hendrickson no longer seems interested in doing his job, just in rushing the passer. |

Again, you need maybe a dozen carries between the 20s to 'establish the run' in a given game. Aight. One run per drive. Works for me. That's all you get, Pop. Running the football is dumb. |

Shakir/Kincaid ain't Kelce/Rice Hell, Keon Coleman may not be Justin Watson. |
Seems like Chiefs reporters have nothing to do but report on the status of Hollywood Brown a half dozen times per day. We know he's not playing. I'm really not concerned. It isn't "grim news", or "not looking good". We're fine, stop trying to make it more than it is.
|
The chiefs should take this opportunity to bury the Bengals. Andy needs to keep his foot on the gas this game. Don't go into our vanilla offense like he did against the Ravens. This is a team that needs to be shut up and humiliated for the future psychological edge. Show them exactly how unprepared they are to complete this year.

It's like they're being told to make sure they talk some shit to the media... what a bunch of clowns. |
Quote:
I have a freak WR out there to where I can throw up a 50/50 and have faith that they'll likely make a play? Keep chucking it baby! We'll see though.. Burrow has been checking down and "taking what the defense gives him" (his words after the game last Sunday). If the wrist issue is real and/or he continues to check it down we might not see 50/50 balls. |
Quote:
Volson has been looking much better his past few games but can still be a liability. Actually, Cappa has been one of the worst for the interior OL (getting bad scores) most recently. Bengals interior O-Line vs Chris Jones is a real big problem (big problem for.most teams actually). Speed rushers should go against OBJ. He has been doing pretty well against strength and bull rushes,,, speed rushers to his sides can give him real issues. |
Quote:
And the Chiefs, while their parts didn't execute terribly well, were at least complementary. The Bills, OTOH, are redundant as all hell. It's a bad room. Poorly conceived and poorly executed. |
Quote:
Higgins is a boss at those 50/50 balls, Chase is spectacular out of his cuts and into space for YAC, etc... I said in the other Bengals thread, but Cincy really screwed the pooch here. They had those 2, Burrow and Hendrickson on steal contracts and managed very little. Those are MASSIVE assets on a cap sheet that have essentially amortized out. Now they'll never be in a situation like that again. Maybe they'll find their way through it. But the only real way to do that is to pay a LOT of cash and keep kicking the can for 5-6 years the way Jerrah does in Dallas. And then you hope you draft a Parsons and get some breakout performances from someone like Bland. And so while your QB and WRs cost real money, you've supplemented them and you can survive it. But Mike Brown isn't gonna do that. He's not Jerry. He's going to try to do it on the cheap and things are just going to spiral on them. The '21 loss in the SB and '22 loss in the AFCCG are likely gonna haunt these fellas for a real long time. '22 would be the worst for me because they seemed ready to take the next step after the '21 loss to LA. The injury to Burrow in '23 (probably because of the hammy) was also pretty brutal and is likely to still be impacting them this season. That's a 4 year wide-open championship window and it's extremely unlikely that they'll end up with much in the trophy case to show for it. |
Joe’s new hairdo really highlights his handsome features. And now we learn that he has a limp wrist?! Be still my beating heart.

Now that's actually not something I'll give him shit for.
That's 100% the right message to say. Get in that lockerroom and say "Boys, we're ****ing good at football - let's prove it..." |
Wow. Perception here about their DC does not match their fanbase. At all. General consensus is they're pretty tired of him. And looking into the numbers they kind of have a point. Only once has he fielded a top 5 scoring defense. The rest are mediocre to outright bad.
|
Although it's a lot more to do with their cheap ass owner refusing to give out second contracts than the DC. Jessie Bates is a top 3 Safety in football and they refused to even negotiate a second contract with him.

Meanwhile you have the opposite situation in Buffalo. Fancy regular season statistics for the Buffalo defense, but they get absolutely torched in the Playoffs every year. They even gave up over 30 points at home to a 3rd string QB for Miami. |
Almost feels like a trap game. I refuse to believe that CIN is going to come out and play the Chiefs as bad as they did vs. NE a few days ago. Guess we'll see.

Been telling y’all for years that their fan base is cringe. And jamar chase as good as he is, is part of the attitude problem where their locker room has this weird smack talk. I don’t even know how to describe it because it’s not ray Lewis confidently arrogant. These guys are laid back arrogant and just say things to provoke without even getting fired about it. It’s the weirdest thing and I don’t know why Taylor doesn’t dial it in knowing that good teams feed off this shit
