I think he’s going to be the most impactful player traded

Scrubbing the Patriot stink off & Noah Gray helped

They didn’t rush him for shit this year. Mayo didn’t like him for some odd reason. They also never get to pin their ears back. This guy is definitely an 8 or so sack guy a year here.
This is how you eventually replace Chris Jones. Get a lot of “good” caliber rushers like Omenihu, Karlaftis and Uche. You’re gonna have to continue stack those guys |

Does this mean we just threw away the 7th rounder for Cam Thomas?

NVM, it wasn't conditional
Eh, they'll get a 7th back I am sure with compensatory picks. It is what it is, gotta swing sometimes at the risk of missing. |
Quote:
I guess I just wonder what it is they saw that compelled them to make the move. I don't care a whit about the 7th rounder, but why did you go get the guy at all if you had so little use for him? |

If he's still buried behind Malik friggen Herring, what could there POSSIBLY have been on tape to convince you that he was worth acquiring? Sometimes I wonder if there's a bit of a disconnect between the front office and coaching staff on these smaller moves in the margins. But in an organization this well run, that seems unlikely. I mean, unless they asked Cullen while he was out there running a drill and he was just like "Sure, fine, whatever - have at it Brett. I'm sure it'll be great...{blows whistle}..." Herring played 40% of the snaps last week and he's the Jaggiest Jag to ever Jag. |
Friendly reminder that this appears to have pre-dated Cullen. Not saying he didn’t push for the kid but the Chiefs met with Uche when he was in the draft process. I remember us talking about him being a nice fit here. I bet Veach liked this kid. I remember Veach saying in a presser that they run through everybody in the draft process in case they are ever available in future years, like this move.
Thanks Dante for making the prospect tracker threads every year. They come in clutch for times like this. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I interviewed <a href="https://twitter.com/UMichFootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@UMichFootball</a> EDGE Josh Uche (<a href="https://twitter.com/_Uche35?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@_Uche35</a>) for <a href="https://twitter.com/TheDraftWire?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@TheDraftWire</a>. Slow Wednesday, finally started to imagine 3rd-and-9 with a four man front of
Uche - Wharton - Jones - Karlaftis or... Jones - Omenihu - Karlaftis - Uche Dare I say it could be as close to what Spags had in NY 2007 as any package since? |

99-99.9% of his posts are like this and I'm always wondering how he keeps it going. Has he been like this since 2001? |

This week is the sort of game that should help illustrate why we got him. Hope he shows out.

The DL writ large looked so bad against Denver that I still think it had to have been an overarching contain strategy. What they were doing in that game just didn't make sense to me. |

Why would you not blitz him here? Makes no sense. Are we saving looks for if we meet them in the playoffs? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">My QB ❤️ <a href="https://t.co/xkk3muvKhy">pic.twitter.com/xkk3muvKhy</a></p>— Michael (@RespectMyCos) <a href="https://twitter.com/RespectMyCos/status/1855782093982457953?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 11, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
My question would be why are both ILB's chasing the RB there instead of one sitting in the MOF hook zone.

I read somewhere before the game that Nix was significantly worse when he stood in the pocket and tried to go through his progressions/reads than he was under pressure, mostly because of his legs. Maybe Spags was trying to get him to play from the pocket based on those metrics? |

I expect to see more Uche this week. Last week was a strange strange game plan.

Watching this again. The “Bo Nix torched the Chiefs” narrative is not exactly accurate.
It was far more the Chiefs playing sloppy. That big TE gain that was wide open was bc Nazeeh and Tranquill ran into each other. The first TD was Bolton thinking Tranquill was covering the WR that was open. The big play at the end was 3 players going to the Rb leaving the middle open. Bo wasn’t good. The Chiefs defense was bad. Ton of sloppy mistakes they haven’t made all year. |

Okay.. This week would be a good week for him to contribute… Big games like this and the playoffs are why we traded for this guy..
|
So, is this a case of they were caught looking ahead to the Bills?
|
Lord knows we've done it before. The week before big ones it seems like were flat more often than not.

I kinda felt the Broncos game coming. No one was talking about it, same old Donx are bad rhetoric. Seemed ripe for a painful game going either way. |

Like I said when the game was over - I really don't know how we won it. There just wasn't a position group on the field where I could confidently say "Okay, those guys played well today..." Safeties were as close as I got. Reid was as good as he's capable of being, IMO. Cook was solid. But otherwise, that whole team just didn't have it. It wasn't much different than the Christmas Day game - just a better outcome. |
Guy’s barely farted near a QB since arriving here
|
I noticed that he created pressure on one play, but only noticed him a few times in the game
|
Can we trade him back?

Josh Allen was playing out of his damn mind. He's a really good QB. We'll be fine.

Veach rolled the dice and missed. I get where his head was thinking that with a formidable pass rush we could get by at CB. Problem is that against guys like Josh Allen who get rid of the football quickly it doesn’t work. If we have to face them again in the playoffs at full strength this Chiefs secondary I don’t think will be up to the task. Johnson will continue to get cooked. So will Cook.
Chiefs pass rush isn’t getting sacks. Maybe Omenihu changes that? |

They played well we played below our best they won a close game , but to lose your mind after losing to a good team after winning 15 in a row back to back superbowl, some of you must have just miserable lives .

The 2000 Ravens gave up a 30+ point game in their season
Just saying  |

Been surprisingly dog-s***. Still, maybe he'll improve as he gets up to speed?
|
What is surprising ? Half of his career sacks came in one year when the Pats got Judon and Judon was wrecking. I live in NH and watched all of his games . He is a one trick pony - speed rush. Can’t do anything else . Belichick the commentator endorsed him. Belichick the coach couldn’t find him snaps . It was an ok gamble because we gave up nothing . He could make a big play at some point in time but the love fest when we got him was pretty delusional
