Nobody has ever done what KC is trying to do. There's a dozen or more reasons for that.

I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

I was thinking about this part and just think of all the reasons already marked off the list, too...

Reasons teams don't 3peat..
- Obviously, they don't win two in a row. That's ****ing hard.
- Injuries. Never 'marked off the list' of course and still two games left, but despite all the shit this season, they're playing next weekend and they're pretty damn healthy.
- Players getting old/retiring (60s Packers, 70s Steelers, 90s Broncos)... well, postseason Kelce was getting open all day yesterday.

After that, the sample size is pretty damn small for the teams trying to just get back to a 3rd SB in a row after winning the first two

Statistically the Ravens are the far better team than the Bills this year. So I think I will begrudgingly root for the Bills to win. I would also like to see Rams over Commandos for the easiest path.

This is ALL house money, as far as I'm concerned.
I had resigned myself to the reality that my beloved Chiefs would never win a Super Bowl, never have an elite QB, and that every season would end in heartbreak-if it didn't end in embarassment long before the play-offs.

And then it happened: We drafted Patrick Mahomes.

And things I'd never dreamed of in my tiny shrunken black hole of a heart came to pass.

It's all house money. Enjoy the ride!

Almost certainly, this off-season will bring a lot of change whether we win or lose. Players we've come to love will move on in search of fortunes. Coaches and front office people will move on to new opportunities. Change is the one constant, and we've been somewhat immune thus far. Probably not this time.

I'm not saying I don't CARE if we win or not; of course I CARE. I want to cement this Chiefs era as the greatest in the sport.

I won't be broken hearted if we don't get there. This team, these coaches, these players-they've already given me so much joy that not winning a third straight won't cause me to lose any sleep. It's house money, baby.

Enjoy the ride!

He balls out in the first round against pumpkins. That’s about it besides the divisional against us where our DBs kept falling over. He’s been not good his last two divisional games.

Yeah, my only concern at all was losing yesterday would have been a shitty way to end the current run... now that the Arrowhead Invitational is back on, one more win will be a first in NFL history, much less two more wins.

In a perfect world, Lamar Jackson would never make it to a SB and Bills Mafia would never experience true joy, but probably can't hold them off forever either, heh.

I hope they beat the shit out of each other

I disagree.
It doesn't matter who we play unless their starting QB goes down..
This is going to be a tough game.

ptlyon 01-19-2025 03:11 PM

Regular season doesn't matter. Should have lost to the Ravens, looked like total shit against the bills.

But that don't matter now.

AFCCG in KC, again, that will bring up thoughts of years past to them.

Like Chris said. House money. And KC is the dealer.

Eh, you know, if we can't win it, I can't hate Josh Allen winning one. Plus, you know how petty Mahomes is. If he's got a legit peer it'll just be more fuel for the fire.

wazu 01-19-2025 03:15 PM

I cannot figure out which team would be easier for the Chiefs. Just gonna watch this game and hope it is exhausting, hard-hitting, and goes to quadruple overtime.

I'll always take the worse passer, at least until all the scary run teams we talk about every year start actually winning CGs/SBs.

Yeah, I'd much rather it be Allen than Jackson.... it's kind of nuts Allen's biggest accomplishments have been one AFCCG appearance and winning the AFCE every season.

I think his tears are tastier

mr. tegu 01-19-2025 03:23 PM

You root for the Ravens. If we play well Jackson can’t beat us. Allen can.

Same, but this year Lamar was an elite passer, putting up more impressive numbers than Josh. So which one is the worse passer?

Hate to say it but even if Allen or Jackson were to win a Super Bowl they still wouldn't be Mahomes peer.

Mahomes has no real peer based on his accomplishment during his first 7 seasons...

How should KC have lost to the Ravens? Even had Likely’s foot stayed inbounds they still would’ve needed a 2pt conversion to win and those are never guaranteed.

Where I'm at too. Both are going to be a tough out. I like facing Buffalo's defense a lot more than Baltimore's. I like facing Buffalo's run game more than Baltimore's. If no Zay Flowers, I like how we match up against the Baltimore passing attack which may help keep them more one-dimensional. Josh scares me more than Lamar does with mental fortitude and putting the team on his back. Very much ugh...

Frazod 01-19-2025 04:52 PM

I hope the Ratbirds prevail. You always want to face the lesser quarterback.

This is true, of course.

But in the way that Manning was Brady's rival, the other guy has to win one every once in awhile to keep it interesting.

I'd prefer the Ravens but it doesn't matter what I prefer because we will play whoever wins

And then we'll play whoever wins out of the NFC.

Put a big bet on Baltimore but I would be fine losing it knowing we would smoke the Bills defense next week.

BigRedChief 01-19-2025 05:52 PM

Lamar looked cold as shit on the sideline.

seamonster 01-19-2025 05:56 PM

Dumbass allen. Should have handed the ball off. Would have been a fifteen yard gain.

kccrow 01-19-2025 08:32 PM

Wow. Andrews drops the game-tying 2-pt... wowwwwwwwwwwwww

emaw1979 01-19-2025 08:36 PM

Hahahahah.

Mike in SW-MO 01-19-2025 08:42 PM

I was REALLY rooting for that game to go to overtime.

Graystoke 01-19-2025 08:43 PM

Andrews cost that game and Lamar was choker on top

PHOG 01-19-2025 08:44 PM

I wanted to see the over time damn it. Maybe 2 or 3.
