My buddy and I were talking about Kelce and all the crazy shit. He asked me if I knew how old Jerry Rice was. I guessed 62 and he’s like he’s 63, but I had no clue he was that old. Seemed like he should be 50s. It’s because we’re old. Anybody that was 10 in 1993 is now over 40. Virtually no one in their 30s were too young to have seen the Montana times. And probably half the fans under 45 because a lot of dudes don’t get in it until they start playing football. Age happens bro. Sucks but it happens. |

Wow, just now seeing that Portnoy lost $1M by betting against the Chiefs. Figured he lost something significant after seeing his foaming-at-the-mouth crazy guy rant, but damn.
If he truly believes it is rigged, he should take the rest of his money and put it all on the Chiefs to Win Super Bowl 59. If it's rigged then that is all just free money. |

Obvious, the NFL isn't ever going to lend credence to any idea that the game is rigged. They have no reason to. |

Honestly, I think social media combined with traditional media is a f***ing curse and I hope we end up firing it into the sun.
There's a whole load of people, imo, who used to watch their team lose, get drunk and whinge with their mates about how it's rigged, and then forgot about it the next day. Maybe two days if it's a real stinger. Now we have this shit-stiring machine to allow people to endlessly relitigate moments and validate their whining with others saying the same. It's turned people into sore losers and babies. |

As far as any League conspiracy goes, I can buy the idea that they are content with the buzz and attention the clearly bad across the board officiating creates as the calculation would be that it ultimately drives up viewership - to a point obviously. At this juncture, that is the only League conspiracy theory that passes the logic test for me. |

Can you guys please answer something for me? I'm trying to understand how the conspiracy could work, and who would organize it.
Troy Vincent, former CB (including Bills and Eagles), is EVP of Football Operations responsible for: developing the game, ensuring consistency in the rules and officiating, and strengthening the NFL brand. He reports to Commissioner Goodell, who is accountable to the Executive Committee of league owners. We know that behind any good conspiracy is the motive of money, which means TV ratings and merchandise sales in this case. The primary theory seems to center on Taylor Swift being uniquely good for bringing in new fans and especially for TV ratings, doesn't it? I can't think of any other reasonable angle. So the either the other owners would have to agree to have Goodell and Vincent pressure refs, which is ludicrous, or those two and their reports would have to conspire independently of the owners, presumably because their compensation is tied to revenue, and the refs would have to get a cut. They would risk losing their positions when inevitably the plot is uncovered because it involves so many players. Am I doing this right? I just wish one of these idiot reporters would ask someone like Adam Schefter, ok, just tell me exactly how you think this is being done and by whom? Also, I don't understand why the owners and Goodell don't step in and deny access to these fools like Schefter who are damaging the brand of the NFL? In today's world whether in real life, politics, or sports, you get to just make shit up and keep saying it until a certain percentage of people will start to believe it, especially if it confirms their bias or wishes. I think Orwell wrote a book about that once. |

Bills moderator is calling out Bills fans for idiotic takes on the calls over there btw
|
Quote:
The bigger problem is that a lot do not agree with the calls on the field in the last 2 weeks. Most of the disputed calls were reviewed. The head office could have over turned any one of them. Both personal foul calls they clearly hit Patrick's head. The league indicated it was called correctly. The catch, there is no video of the ball moving, the 4th down there is no evidence as to where the ball was.... Now that being said, the old NBA was notorious for sending refs videos on what to watch for and those could lead to refs calling certain players and effect the outcome. (ie Bulls up 3-0, and we want the otherside to avoid a sweep) the video is of Jordan hooking on his spin move, the video is of Rodman being in the paint for 5 seconds...) I do think the NFL has done this to Taylor and his false start. If he comes close it is a auto penalty. Other tackles seem to get away with it 1-2 times a game. I think on the McCafee show they did ask Schefter that and he said he is not a conspiracy theroist he just report facts. Seemed to indicate he does not believe the games are rigged just reporting the sentiment of others. |
Quote:
|
If you know that you need to beat the refs, then why are you still losing? You know the Chiefs will only clear 30 very few times, you only scored 27 against the Ravens AT HOME so you knew you had to bring a better game against the Chiefs at their home, against their fans, against the refs, so why didn't you? You weren't good enough to hit 30, if you aren't scoring 30 like you did in our first meeting IN BUFFALO then why did you think you could come in and score under 30 in Arrowhead and win? Plan better ****ers and enjoy Cancun. AND we spotted you two possessions, once for the fumble and once after halftime when we did nothing with the ball.

Plus Schefter is doing damage control. "For all those complaining that Patrick Mahomes gets too many calls, relief soon could be on the way." He has a ****ing agenda and he knows it. |

There are probably millions of Swifties who have no idea who Derrick Thomas is. I still accept their fandom. Anybody who doesn't know who Derrick Thomas is probably just either wasn't alive, was too young, or hadn't yet started paying attention to the NFL yet when he was playing. Back in the DT era when I became a fan, for the longest time I wouldn't have been able to tell you who Otis Taylor was. I didn't care. Yet some old dude might have seen me wearing a Christian Okoye jersey and quizzed me about it and decided I wasn't a real fan. |

But God as my witness, my msn and yahoo scrolls are absolutely CHOKED with hit pieces from every conceivable outlet you can think of... the upcoming game itself isn't being covered AT ALL Never seen anything like it, even the Patriots didn't get absolutely scorched like this... also, I hope Dave Portnoy chokes to death on the shittiest slice of pizza he's ever had |
