Just watched the play on All 22. Unfortunately the one sideline cam view is from the Chiefs sideline, staring right at Allen's back. The ball is completely out of view.

Seems he lost 1 million betting on Bills.

He has a net worth of 100 million. Frankly, that isn't high enough to be wagering a cool million on a sporting event. Maybe 100 grand, but a million?

That said, for a guy that's a Patriots fan to be whining about "cheating" just bolsters the fact he is completely full of shit.

I’ve never had any kind of access to the All 22 so I am completely ignorant as to what you can actually watch, but does it not provide access to the “eye in the sky” cam?

We got job multiple times with spots in the superbowl last , nobody cared about those .

Exactly.

My buddy and I were talking about Kelce and all the crazy shit. He asked me if I knew how old Jerry Rice was. I guessed 62 and he’s like he’s 63, but I had no clue he was that old. Seemed like he should be 50s.

It’s because we’re old. Anybody that was 10 in 1993 is now over 40. Virtually no one in their 30s were too young to have seen the Montana times. And probably half the fans under 45 because a lot of dudes don’t get in it until they start playing football.

Age happens bro. Sucks but it happens.

Do the math on 1% of your total equity and then consider betting it on a team you hate.

Holy hell.

Not on every play, no. Generally, there's a sideline view and an end zone view for each play. On this one, the sideline view is on the wrong side. Allen turned away from the Chiefs bench, completely obscuring the ball.

wazu 01-28-2025 02:23 PM

Wow, just now seeing that Portnoy lost $1M by betting against the Chiefs. Figured he lost something significant after seeing his foaming-at-the-mouth crazy guy rant, but damn.

If he truly believes it is rigged, he should take the rest of his money and put it all on the Chiefs to Win Super Bowl 59. If it's rigged then that is all just free money.

That’s just odd. I know they have the footage, why wouldn’t it be included? Unless…

My guess is the people that stitch together the All 22 didn't feel it was controversial enough to include it. They went with the two standard views, just like most every other play.

Obvious, the NFL isn't ever going to lend credence to any idea that the game is rigged. They have no reason to.

Yeah we talked a lot about "tendency breakers" around here in regards to the Chiefs. Buffalo not only didn't break tendency, they double and tripled down on their approach regardless of outcome.

Exactly.

They kept going back to the same well. Meanwhile, Andy picked a couple of plays he borrowed from the Ravens, two plays Orlovsky said he'd never seen the Chiefs run before.

Completely delusional. Mahomes has had 6 different guys at Left Tackle in 3 seasons, which is a ridiculous amount of instability at such an important position. Josh Allen has had Dion Dawkins for 7 years. Dawkins has been healthy for 99% of those games, which is remarkable luck at Left Tackle for both the QB and the Buffalo team in general.

That's just the LT. I think they're better at RT too. Obviously, they don't have a Thuney or Creed but their interior line is still pretty damn good.

Exactly. When Josh drops back, he pretty much always has a ton of time to throw. Their run game has been very strong the last few years as well. Some of that is Josh, but some of it is great blocking from OL and James Cook's talent as well.

JPH83 01-28-2025 03:07 PM

Honestly, I think social media combined with traditional media is a f***ing curse and I hope we end up firing it into the sun.

There's a whole load of people, imo, who used to watch their team lose, get drunk and whinge with their mates about how it's rigged, and then forgot about it the next day. Maybe two days if it's a real stinger. Now we have this shit-stiring machine to allow people to endlessly relitigate moments and validate their whining with others saying the same.

It's turned people into sore losers and babies.

I feel like I should probably clarify this: the conspiracy I keep referencing is the conspiracy within the media and the "influencers" who are intentionally feeding this other conspiracy frenzy by cherry picking calls and by ignoring the statistical evidence for hits and ratings.

As far as any League conspiracy goes, I can buy the idea that they are content with the buzz and attention the clearly bad across the board officiating creates as the calculation would be that it ultimately drives up viewership - to a point obviously. At this juncture, that is the only League conspiracy theory that passes the logic test for me.

Can you guys please answer something for me? I'm trying to understand how the conspiracy could work, and who would organize it.

Troy Vincent, former CB (including Bills and Eagles), is EVP of Football Operations responsible for: developing the game, ensuring consistency in the rules and officiating, and strengthening the NFL brand. He reports to Commissioner Goodell, who is accountable to the Executive Committee of league owners.

We know that behind any good conspiracy is the motive of money, which means TV ratings and merchandise sales in this case. The primary theory seems to center on Taylor Swift being uniquely good for bringing in new fans and especially for TV ratings, doesn't it? I can't think of any other reasonable angle.

So the either the other owners would have to agree to have Goodell and Vincent pressure refs, which is ludicrous, or those two and their reports would have to conspire independently of the owners, presumably because their compensation is tied to revenue, and the refs would have to get a cut. They would risk losing their positions when inevitably the plot is uncovered because it involves so many players.

Am I doing this right? I just wish one of these idiot reporters would ask someone like Adam Schefter, ok, just tell me exactly how you think this is being done and by whom? Also, I don't understand why the owners and Goodell don't step in and deny access to these fools like Schefter who are damaging the brand of the NFL?

In today's world whether in real life, politics, or sports, you get to just make shit up and keep saying it until a certain percentage of people will start to believe it, especially if it confirms their bias or wishes. I think Orwell wrote a book about that once.

Kind of a crazy rant all around. Seems to imply Buffalo should consider coaching changes, player changes, etc. Also states that a lot of people think Buffalo is the "City of Losers". Do people really say that? Would think being in KC I would have heard it by now. I only have heard it from Andre Reed and Sean McDermott.

I think if Goodell et. al. would respond to this it's like giving a fire air. It will just flame up and feed itself.

Some things are too stupid to justify a response.

Exactly. It's so dumb, it's best to just ignore it.

Think it would be impossible to fix. Not sure how you keep all of the officials in on it and silent at the same time.

The bigger problem is that a lot do not agree with the calls on the field in the last 2 weeks. Most of the disputed calls were reviewed. The head office could have over turned any one of them. Both personal foul calls they clearly hit Patrick's head. The league indicated it was called correctly. The catch, there is no video of the ball moving, the 4th down there is no evidence as to where the ball was....

Now that being said, the old NBA was notorious for sending refs videos on what to watch for and those could lead to refs calling certain players and effect the outcome. (ie Bulls up 3-0, and we want the otherside to avoid a sweep) the video is of Jordan hooking on his spin move, the video is of Rodman being in the paint for 5 seconds...)

I do think the NFL has done this to Taylor and his false start. If he comes close it is a auto penalty. Other tackles seem to get away with it 1-2 times a game.

I think on the McCafee show they did ask Schefter that and he said he is not a conspiracy theroist he just report facts. Seemed to indicate he does not believe the games are rigged just reporting the sentiment of others.

I don't think that's fair. There's younger fans that might now know who DT is. He died in 1998.

Gravedigger 01-28-2025 04:20 PM

If you know that you need to beat the refs, then why are you still losing? You know the Chiefs will only clear 30 very few times, you only scored 27 against the Ravens AT HOME so you knew you had to bring a better game against the Chiefs at their home, against their fans, against the refs, so why didn't you? You weren't good enough to hit 30, if you aren't scoring 30 like you did in our first meeting IN BUFFALO then why did you think you could come in and score under 30 in Arrowhead and win? Plan better ****ers and enjoy Cancun. AND we spotted you two possessions, once for the fumble and once after halftime when we did nothing with the ball.

I realize that the soulless husk of a body who was once a KC kicker is technically still alive, but he's been dead to me for 30 years now.

There are probably millions of Swifties who have no idea who Derrick Thomas is. I still accept their fandom. Anybody who doesn't know who Derrick Thomas is probably just either wasn't alive, was too young, or hadn't yet started paying attention to the NFL yet when he was playing.

Back in the DT era when I became a fan, for the longest time I wouldn't have been able to tell you who Otis Taylor was. I didn't care. Yet some old dude might have seen me wearing a Christian Okoye jersey and quizzed me about it and decided I wasn't a real fan.

Yeah I thought about that. I just want to see irresponsible clowns like Schefter suffer consequences from a league that is effectively paying their salaries. I lost total respect for that guy. Yes, obviously

MSN is extra bad about it

If I search bing for anything, my msn scroll will suddenly have 20 ads and articles on whatever it was... but that doesn't change the fact that SO many different outlets, basically all of them, are ready to cut our throats

Just hoping the SB refs can drown it out, and as they say... just let them play

And that’s why it wasn’t overturned. Replay does not overrule the refs unless it’s clearly evident the wrong call was made. In that situation there was no angle that shows 100% the ball crossed the line, and as such the ruling on the field had to stand.

There is a lot of confirmation bias. I doubt that most of the idiots will see it as being rigged. To them it would be a fair game. They are going to continue to review the game for every marginal call that went the Chiefs way to confirm their world view. While ignoring all of the calls that went againstt he Chiefs. I do not see this stopping as long as Taylor and Mahomes are in the stadium.

The beauty for their side, one can see holding about every play. There are always 2-3 calls/no calls that seem to go against both teams every game. We are able to over come most of those and Patrick is amazing in one score games.
