I'd say that shows he has a pretty good idea that he needs to strike a balance.

Precisely. Just because they guy is new to the title does not mean he hasn't learned a few things on the way up.

Awesome.....we're going to run that elusive defense that doesn't use a NT.

It's Gailey's first day at DC. Cut him some slack.

That's awesome, having Bavaro there. I loved that guy.

Great receiving threat TE on Tecmo Bowl.

We can bitch and moan about Hali's talent, or lack thereof, as I have, and many are still doing.

But don't ever question this guy's ethic and desire.

He clearly is doing everything he can to compete, and unlike Eric Hicks, who shared a similar ethic, he doesn't open his mouth constantly and make an ass of himself.

:hmmm: a 2-4-5 alignment. I have a feeling my PVR is going to get a lot work this season.

Keep F*&^ing doubting Tamba Hali!!!

...needed to be said.

Pioli actually banned him from visiting Arrowhead. Right after he was hired, Haley screamed at some workers because they weren't working the way they were expected to, and it nearly caused one of the unions to strike, risking timely completion of the stadium.

Will Franklin was there with Bowe to witness it...Will quit the team straight right away, and Bowe has trouble catching the ball due to the trauma. They told Dorsey all about it and he was affected so much he couldn't bring himself to do any of his conditioning.

LaChapelle 08-12-2009 01:07 PM

I knew Haley said they may do different things this season with regards to who is coaching what, but I got to admit Chan Gailey taking over as DC midway through training camp... I didn't see that one comming.

Has DaJuan Morgan practiced at all yet? I don't recall him having surgery or anything that would keep him out this long.

wondered the same thing, at this point he's as good gone though....injured players are going to get wacked....

I wouldn't be surprised to see Zack Thomas retire if he can't keep on the field. I have no insider information obviously...I just feel like he has missed a ton of time, and must have a nagging injury he can't get over.

Wait and see approach...

1. How much does Zach Thomas have left?

If Thomas wasn’t good enough for the Dallas Cowboys, why is he good enough for the Kansas City Chiefs? That’s the question we ought to be asking ourselves, especially because, despite their reputation, the Cowboys didn’t have a terrific defense last year. Especially in run defense, and especially down the stretch.

Not only did Dallas rank 20th in yards per carry surrendered, in vital, season-ending games against the Ravens and Eagles, Thomas and company gave up gobs and gobs of rushing yards. Philadelphia, not known for it’s running game, piled up over 130 yards rushing, and Baltimore saw both LeRon McLain and Willis McGahee top the century mark.

It’s not like Thomas was injured during this stretch. He was there, recording only four tackles and apparently not making much of an impact. But that’s what happens to ancient middle linebackers with a ton of NFL miles on their body – they become less effective as the season drags on.

If we have an idea of the scheme the Chiefs are going to run, Thomas is going to be clashing with offensive linemen quite a bit. How much of that can he take at 35 years of age? Can he stay healthy? Who can play at any decent level if he’s injured? Potentially, there are some major issues here. Remember what happened to Donnie Edwards last season?

MahiMike 08-12-2009 07:38 PM

He's not here to play. He's here to coach on the field.
