I'm not into indie titles at all and that seems to be a lot of what PC gamers seem to like. I'm noticing they are starting to carry over to consoles now as well which I really hate.

Technically ps4 is 600-650 when you include ps plus. In the long run pc is cheaper and you can play older games.

Could just as easily not upgrade the computer every two years and play the game on low-medium settings where the console might have a chance to compete graphically.

I'm not saying PC isn't a viable game platform. Its just not for me. I tried that route and ultimately I prefer console. Keyboard and mouse in a recliner does not work well either. Thats pretty much what made me hate it.

Sigh, this shit again.
Most do not do spend like that. Like 75% or more don't. A gaming rig can last 6-8 years or longer before you need small tweaks.
I game on 06 desktop. I am just now finally needing new shit. That 600ish bucks I budget spent lasted a long ass time.

PCs can also play almost any console game with the right software, you can also use controllers. Only thing that holds back most casuals if you will is friends that play, but that is no different then different consoles to getting a PC. Hell you can buy a gaming PC now for the price of a console and have it last the entire console duration for most games. Then the fact

Get over it. PCs are superior for a reason, shit you see now being done will be done on the next version of consoles if there are any. Most PC gamers are also console players, they just getting tired of consolers spouting off about being better. It is like a 5yo telling you how the world works.

Plus when you buy a game on steam, your next gen pc will run it also and can download and play it anytime you would like. :D

Also of note that console you're playing on now will someday be emulated on a pc.

The other problem with PCs is the lack of portability and they just looking ****ing ugly in your living/family room.

Speaking of controllers, do they have a way to connect a ps4 controller wirelessly to a PC?

Steam is like crack. LMAO all those games, all those GREAT prices, never enough time to play them all. I fell sucker to this. ROFL

Don't know how many games I got at a low price and once I played them I didn't like them.

It also annoyed me when I would find a game that didn't support gamepads like the 360 controller. That may be remedied now, at least I hope it is, but a few years back it was an issue. Having to use third party programs and they didn't always work.

I dunno about a ps4 controller but I just bought a Ps3 rock candy wireless and I plugged it in and it just works.

Ahhh, see, I don't want to be wired. I want to sit in my easy chair across the room and relax while I play. heh

I really don't understand why Destiny wasn't put on PC. Makes no sense. Its practically all the same architecture now.

I would say money, but it's an MMO so not sure why it isn't on PC. Yes I understand wanting to play from your easy chair. A Keyboard/mouse are not really meant to be played like that.

Now that I think about it, Bungie and Activision probably don't want to deal with the MODDERS

as others mentioned, you don't really need to upgrade that often and in the long run, think about the cost of the TV, online subscriptions, and all the games and you're really racking up the cost of your console. What's great about PC is that it's NOT a niche gaming system, you can do virtually everything on it (and you probably own one anyway despite preferring console) from work, multimedia, surfing the web etc so there's a lot more utility there.

At this point the only real difference is the bullshit corporate brand exclusives that aren't ported to PC which can be painful from time to time when a really good one comes out. PC has to wait years for the same shit to be ported if at all in most cases

I usually enjoy your posts, but god damn you head is up your ass in this one. you no longer need a tower to game. They even make cases designed to look like they belong in the family room. I almost exclusively play games on steam with a controller. Unless it is some unique game like Kerbal or an FPS, I dont know why you would want to use a controller then.

PS4 controller works fine on PC wirelessly, as long as you have the right Bluetooth.

Neh.

Its been explained in great depth.

Hardware is more. IF YOU WANT TO SPEND MORE. You can spend the same amount as a next gen console and get more power, freedom, etc in a PC. Games are less, way less, game developers don't collude with the OS manufacturer to make you spend 5x as much on games and DLC. Should I go on about backwards compatibility, emulation, mods, control of software settings etc? You can just go back and read the thread where I have trounced every ounce of console culture~

Thats the great thing about PC gaming, No boundaries, no BS, just whatever you want. if you want to spend 400 bucks on a low end PC and play games at 720p on medium settings you can. That's what you are doing when you buy a console, except with none of the traps.

PC master race in the house.
