Yeah, Wanya’s injury was a scary moment. I was surprised he got back into the game pretty quick. If nothing else, Humphries is a good quality depth guy.

If all he ends up being is depth, they failed. He's a clear upgrade over Wanya and needs to be the starter for the rest of the season.

In regards to Wanya, that was still a successful draft pick. The failure rate for the average 3rd rd pick is 80%. Late 3rd rd failure rate is around 85%.

The fact that the Chiefs got an excellent 6th OL and swing tackle at the end of rd 3 should be considered a success

I still think he's better suited to be a guard but even then, he's a decent draft pick. Wanya has done pretty much what they needed from him, that's a good thing. It's just not good ENOUGH.

Wanya will start at one of the G spots next year.

I like this guy!

To get in game shape, he has to get reps. And he needs reps with Thuney for communication.

Problem is, if he is getting those first team reps then Wanya isn't which makes it harder for a young player to prepare. If we want Humphries ready to play, the 9 days between Raiders & Chargers seems the best time to ramp him up.

I'd love to see him against LAC but that's gonna be tough considering they didn't really practice this week.

So are you really gonna start after one week of practicing with pads? Seems unlikely.

I'd have the Browns game circled.

That guy is chomping at the bit.

He's gonna play against the Chargers.

I like his competitive spirit. Sounds like he is very willing to help guide & train the younger OL guys as well, which is great. :thumb:

Yes, especially against Myles Garrett.

The Chiefs already beat the Chargers once with Wanya at LT.

Ideal position IMO.

If we have learned anything about OL this year it’s how important hand usage is. Kingsley looked like a ****ing monster benching 31 reps and yet he looks incredibly weak.

Meanwhile Wanya isn’t the strongest OL but has really heavy hands that slows down punches and countermoves. We should have learned from Mitchell Schwartz about technique bc he was never as agile or strong but kept those players in check due to his elite hand placement and body mirroring technique.

Yeah this guy is always gonna win the press conference. He did at Arizona, too.

He should be working on his own getting ready physically and he should be studying his playbook overtime as well as working assistant coaches and the other OTs so he can get on the field ASAP. He probably is instead of just waiting for "practice'.
