Or do I need to ask SNR's permission first? Because I'm pretty sure that in CP Prison parlance, you're already his missus. |
How would you rate the current WR corps compared to the WR corps from two seasons ago?
|
So wait, you guys think that the same guy that is being a hard ass about dishing out cash to the ultimate leader and cancer survivor in Berry, just paid a brokedick Hali that will no longer be effective on Sunday's?
I highly doubt Reid told Teicher that Tamba's knees are done. Does that even make ****ing sense? |

Him not being able to practice now, isn't a good sign for the future. I do wonder if houston were healthy, what they'd have done with halis contract. They likely feel that berry wanted to be overpaid in line with his position and that they've been able to find adequate safety play elsewhere cheaper. Whereas with olb, they're whole defense relies on pressure from those two guys and with houston down and ford being whatevwr, their hands were tied. |
Quote:
Why do it now, unless their preparing to announce another extension and plan to use that cap space? |
Quote:
Our worst WR from two years ago wouldn't be allowed to patrol Mark Donovan's sacred parking lot. |
Quote:
If he gets cut, then how his contract is structured in terms of LTBE or ULTBE is irrelevant. |

Quote:
If they were going to cut him anyway, why bother? Hadn't looked at it from that angle. |

This just doesn't make sense. I'd like to hear the interview because we're just going by Meatloaf's interpretation. I just heard his interpretation of Hali's quote about Ford the other day, and it was very overboard/speculative. |
Quote:
I do wish they'd have invested a little more via the draft this year at olb, but I don't really remember if they had a chance. |
Teicher loves doom and gloom reports. Why would he say this on the radio and NOWHERE else?
|
Quote:
But to me, the bottom line is that the Chiefs and Dorsey messed up because that $4 million could have been used elsewhere in order to bolster the roster. Again, unless they're preparing to announce an extension with Poe, in which they give that $4 million or so to him, making his salary $10 million this season instead of $6 million, while making 2017's number substantially smaller. |

They went over it to get Foles signed to begin with. Ultimately I don't think this had any impact at all. |
Quote:
Also, I can't say it enough, we're going by Meatloaf's interpretation. Why hasn't Mr. doom and gloom Adam Teicher not reported this ANYWHERE else. I saw a video of Tamba doing his MMA training with DJ a week before TC and he looked great. |

On an entirely different note, I would like to see Sutton use DJ Alexander in the same role that he's used Berry and Abdullah in the box in subs.

Quote:
I think hali will be ok this year, hopefully he can stay together for next year. |
|
Quote:
Id like to see them be able to keep March in on those downs. I think he can run and cover |
Quote:
Actually, Teicher said he had just spoken with Reid about it, so there probably hasn't been enough time for this to bubble up elsewhere? Also, thie fact that Tamba's condition is more or less chronic really isn't a surprise either as I suspect most of us felt that way the last year or two. Nonetheless, as reported by noted journalist, Meatloaf, this was the first he had heard about a coach implying such chronicity (I think I made up a word!). |

If I were on the roster bubble but probably on the outside looking in, I'd take my chances on not getting caught. |
at least it wasn't a starter

Wow, Sterup looked really good Saturday as well. I didn't think he'd initially make the roster but now it's almost a guarantee that he'll be a PS guy. They can't carry a 2nd string offensive lineman that's unavailable for the first 4 games.
What a dumbass. |

Like DJ said though, can you blame the guy? I'd be doing the same shit if I were on the bubble. Lol |

Brock Vereen
TUESDAY, 4:38pm: This is odd, but Vereen has been reinstated from the retirement list after 24 hours. It’s not clear if Vereen still plans on playing football, but regardless, he has been released by the Pats, Jeff Howe of The Boston Herald tweets. 5:54pm: Former fourth-round pick Brock Vereen will retire after spending only two seasons in the NFL, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald (Twitter link). The Patriots have placed Vereen on the reserve/retired list.Brock Vereen (Vertical) Vereen, a safety, was selected by the Bears out of Minnesota in the 2014 draft, and was an immediate contributor, appearing in all 16 games (starting four) while posting 30 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. His playing time dwindled during his sophomore campaign, however, and Vereen was eventually waived at the start of the 2015 season. Vereen, who turns 24 years old on Wednesday, subsequently spent time on the practice squads of Minnesota and New England before signing a futures deal with the Pats earlier this year. According to Howe, Vereen had been having a solid camp with the Patriots, so one has to wonder if there is some underlying cause to this sudden news. Vereen is the younger brother of Giants running back Shane Vereen. |
Chiefs claim S Brock Vereen who was cut by the Patriots after retiring and then un-retiring.
4th round pick of the Bears in 2014. He's bounced around a bit since, but I liked this guy coming out. He's worth a shot. Edit: Dane beat me to it. |

4.47 at the Combine, drafted in the 4th round by the Bears, had 30 tackles and an INT, then was released in 2015 when the new staff took over. From there, he's been on practice squads, signed to the Patriots, then retired 2 days ago, was waived, reinstated and claimed by the Chiefs. |

This is Clayton, the disabled son of the gal I referenced in the "Happy GIF" thread. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=301398 It ends up that not only are they going to both Denver games (they live in CO Springs), they got free tickets to the Tuesday practice in the VIP tent. They drove all night Monday to make the practice. Stayed the day and drove home. I was there as well. They don't make much money, so as it turns out, this is the families Christmas gifts. Again, it floored me. I have known her since HS and never knew she was such a fan. The practice personnel positioned us on the walkway back up the hill to the locker room. At the end of practice, the players would grab one of the kids and push them up the hill. The first player to come by was Marcus. All I can say about him is Wow! What a kid. He talked with Clayton and us for about 15 min. He is down to earth and is so excited. He said he was living a dream. I gave him a little crap about growing up a Raiders fan. He grinned (he grinned the whole time) and growing up he had always respected the Chiefs. He made the day quite special for Clayton. We ended up getting most of the players autographs. So we met most of them. A really nice group of young men. They are HUGE. My friends other son was there and is 6'2". He looked kinda small. Of course I was a midget at 5'8". I have never been up close like that. I talked a bit with Mitch Schwartz about his book with his brother. Geoff played for us 2 yrs ago. I think I was remembering right and mentioned wouldn't be fun to play on the same team. He at guard and brother at tackle. He said yea, but they would probably fight too much. I asked Sherman how he likes playing FB. He loves steamrolling people. I think he is wider then he is tall. His arms are bigger then my thighs. A couple of other observations. Santos is a stud. He kicked for 45 min straight. My leg would have fallen off. I think he only missed once. When he went over to practice with the rest of the team, he booted 2-3 of them so high and long that the dude who was on the 4 story elevated camera platform in the end zone caught them. Right in the numbers. Towards the end of practice, the QBs came over to the west field (right in front of the VIP tent) and had a goal post competition: how many times can you hit the goal post at varying distances. It was pretty amazing how accurate all of them were. It reminded me of ~~Grbac that hit the goal post instead of the receiver during a game?? All said and done, a wonderful day. None better then for Clayton. The NFL and or the Chiefs can say they can do at least one thing awesome. |
Nice !
