Geno sucks butt. I have new found respect for Chad Pennington though. New York is rough as a sandpaper condom **** on it's QBs.

BossChief 12-08-2013 05:48 PM

Geno is terrible because he has thrown 20 picks and only 10tds.

Well, Alex Smith only threw 1 touchdown pass to 11 interceptions his rookie year.

Add those to Frank Gore and Kevin Barlow at running back and tell me again how terrible of a situation Alex was in and how good of a situation Geno is in.

BTW, if you look back before the season, NY was looked at as one of the worst teams in the NFL. They were expected to be a team drafting in the top five in the next draft. They are as talent depraved as any team in the NFL.

So were the 2005 49ers. They were 2-14 the year before Alex.

Also Morton had 700 yards with the Chiefs when we could do anything offensively. Lloyd only had 500 yards the previous year.

At best the teams are wash. I'd still take the Jets team over the 49ers.

So we agree that both of them were/are beyond terrible their rookie seasons?

Nah. Alex Smith never had a Cam Newton like performance./ Big Cat Daddy.

BossChief 12-08-2013 05:54 PM

Alex only completed 50.9% of his passes as a rookie.
Geno is at 54.7%

Alex had a QB rating of 40.
Geno is at 60.

Alex Smiths YPA was 5.3
Genos is 7.0

Geno gets more flack then he deserves because certain people made him out to be a guy who was going to walk in and be an ass kicking QB who the Chiefs were so stupid not to draft at 1.1. They hyped him up and he hasn't lived up to it. I watched this board from about the time Reid was hired I saw all the hype Geno got. Geno gets hate because of it.

I don't hate Geno. I just think he's going to be an ok starter at best in the NFL. He hasn't done anything to change my mind.

I think it's a pretty well known fact that QBs out of college these days are a lot further along than they were in 2005. In 2005 the shotgun was only ran like 25% of the time and now it's well over half of all passing downs.

I'd say Alex was terrible the whole year and didnt flash much at all while Geno has had quite a few good games while having some really terrible outings.

Alex never won offensive player of the week.

Geno has and he has played well enough at times to beat some top shelf teams, too.

So we should pick Geno up in about 8 years.

Unfortunately, I doubt he will be the starter after this year. If he is and that team is able to add a couple weapons for him...ho knows which way his career goes.

BigCatDaddy 12-08-2013 06:22 PM

It looks like Geno broke the Jets rookie QB passing yards record for a season today with three games still left. Nice job big fella.

It will all depend on who they get to coach. I don't think the GM wants Ryan there at all. But should they get Geno better help then I agree there's no telling what he will be able to do.

O.city 12-08-2013 07:54 PM

I ink geno starts next year, he's the gms qb, not Rex's
