Check their site every day. They do crazy deals like 10 stripped lowers for 500 free shipping or complete uppers with bcg for 300.

Thanks, this is the first I've seen of this site. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on their sales on multiple items.

What is up with the .22 ammo drought? Is it just Texas or is it the same deal in KC? I have been to every sports store/walmart around and not even found a 50 pack. Right after xmas I chalked it up to people buying ammo for new guns, but nothing has changed. The guy at walmart said they aren't even being delivered.

The shortage for .22 is nationwide. It's been that way since Sandy Hook.

If you want it bad enough, you need be one of the first few people in line when they open at most places like Bass Pro, Cabelas, or Academy.

Walmart has been the best source locally, but you have to want that ammo pretty bad. Check their website or download their app to find out what is going to be on the shelf the next morning. Most Walmarts around here start selling ammo at 7 AM. If you even want a shot at some .22, you need to be waiting in line hours ahead of time. And you're limited to 3 boxes.

Another good source is slickguns.com. I've scored a fair amount of .22 from that website over the last several months.

Or check online daily at midwayusa.com . That's where I've gotten all of mine.

Midway is good, but I can never seem to catch anything in stock. And that's why I backordered a large amount of .22 from them a few months ago. I might have to put in another backorder by the end of the week.

Would you guys recommend a Glock 19 Gen 4 or an Xdm 3.8?

Easy choice. Go with the Gen4 G19. I have one with the flat dark earth frame, and I absolutely love it.

The Gen4's come with 3 mags if that makes your decision a little easier.

Has anyone seen/tried out any of the new RIP rounds yet?

that's bad ass, and the design makes a lot of sense. It lets the interior of the bullet penetrate all the way through while the jacket peels off and does massive tissue damage.

I agree with this guy and will stick with my hollow points. BTW 9mm $44.00 for 20.

It looks great on camera, and I suspect that these bullets will leave nasty wounds to close if they were shot into a living thing. I suspect, though, that a copper bullet that starts out at just 96 grains and sheds roughly half it’s weight due to designed fragmentation will simply not penetrate enough under a wide range of conditions to be reliably effective as a modern hollowpoint.

While using different technology, it seems to be operating on a theory similar to MagSafe and Glaser, that rapid fragmentation and widespread wound channels are preferable to deep penetration and relatively narrow wound channels.

For general use, most law enforcement agencies have traditionally preferred deeper penetrating hollowpoints, but there are specialized situations where rapid fragmentation is preferable.

Modern hollowpoints are more likely to reliably penetrate deep enough to hit major organs and effect a central nervous system or skeletal system hit, while the MagSafe, Glaser, and presumably the R.I.P. will cause substantial blood loss, but less reliable penetration to vital organs.

Far from being the “last round you’ll ever need,” the R.I.P.—which is brain-dead marketing for a self-defense round, by the way—strikes me as a very specialized round best suited for concealed carry in warm climates in densely packed urban areas, or in home-defense situations where the risk of collateral damage is high and the shooter has good reason to believe that over-penetration is more dangerous than under-penetration.

I don’t hate it, but it doesn’t suit my needs for my personal situation.

If that is all from just a 9mm.... then I'd love to see what a .45acp version would do. :hmmm:

Gun grabbers will absolutely love this new bullet technology. ROFL

I would like to see what the 12 gauge round does when that comes out.

I would still likely stick with my #4 buck shot for use on some slippery Larry that's breaking in the house. I KNOW that's going to get the job done.
