True his other numbers have dropped but from the passes I've seen, most of them have been catchable or the defender interfered with the WR. So his numbers dropping isn't because he's firing off target or throwing into danger.

Wish someone would spend the time breaking down drops and how that has affected his comp %. I am not doing it.. too lazy.

{flips to page 16 of Alexcuses manual}
"His completion percentage rates are only down because of all the drops his WRs have!"
{/manual}

"So it isn't his fault when receivers drop passes, and we should give him credit for the good things he did that someone else jacked up?"

{flips back to manual}
"Yup!"
{/manual}

"Then why isn't it his fault when DEFENDERS drop picks? Why is it not OK to criticize the BAD things he did that someone else jacked up?"

{flips frantically through manual, stops}
"23-5-1!"

You're a good dude, duncan, but I have no idea what you're trying to do here.

It's hilarious seeing guys trying to poke fun at an 80 percent win percentage over 3 seasons. It's pretty sad actually.

I was trying to have a tad bit of fun.

I think it's funny that the same folks who want to try to prop up Smith's completion percentage by blaming his WRs for dropping "catchable" balls also don't think Smith should be blamed when defenders drop "catchable" balls.

What are the numbers for both of these categories you speak of? I'm willing to bet it's a lot to little, with the WRs dropping more.

You didn't see multiple dropped balls or DPIs that weren't called in the NY game?

Hey remember when it was said that Alex needed to be kept at a low pitch count? Whatever happened to that theory? He's thrown an average of 36.5 passes a game and what's funny is that he's been money in the 4th Qtr where his arm should be the most fatigued.

You guys look rather silly now.

Why is Alex wearing a Niners jersey while talking about the Chiefs 4-0 record?

Bad? Not really. Not as efficient as in San Fran if asked to do more? Sure. Too risk-adverse? Definitely.

There's a difference between thinking a guy is mediocre/not good enough to be the long-term answer and thinking a guy is Matt Cassel.

I've said repeatedly I hope Andy Reid is right about Alex Smith, and he can be better/more aggressive. So far, we've seen him do that in spurts (4th quarter Philly, to an extent, and really all of the second half against the Giants, to a greater extent).

bshmerlie 10-01-2013 04:04 PM

It's gonna be a really sad sight when Alex loses his first game here at KC. The snake pit is being filled up as we speak...just waiting for him. Along with the hungry pack of wolves chomping at the bit.

Every QB has dropped balls. It factors into all their numbers.

The irony here is that Alex's stats look pretty damn good to me as is. No need to defend, IMO.

I don't know I didn't make it. Maybe his facial expressions is what fit the joke?

He has better numbers than Kaepernick in every major category. More yards, more TD's, less interceptions, higher passer rating, higher completion %, hell Smith even has more rushing yards than Kaepernick and that's supposed to be Kaep's biggest asset.
