Was really disappointed with myself yesterday. Went running around 10 in the morning, and gassed about 20 minutes in. I was trying to push through and finish the half hour, but I dropped my towel (I'm an extremely heavy sweater), had to stop and pick it up, and then said the hell with it. So I quit at 23 minutes and was pissed at myself the rest of the day.

I hadn't planned to run today, but about 2:30 decided to head out. Ended up having my best half-hour run so far. Not sure of the distance, at a guess I'd say it might be 2.9 miles, which for me would be really good.

I'm so afraid to get on the scale. And I'm afraid to run a few miles too. I've done negative since beginning the process to move. Now that it's time to get back into my normal routines, I'm really not looking forward to seeing what I've gained, and what I've lost. :(

Oh well. It's time to get back on the horse.

I'm going through a similar thing, although a little different. Before my parents were here (8/10 - 8/16), I'd written 2-3 hours every day of August, which was by far the most productive I've ever been. Felt like I was finally making some progress.

But when they got here, I just stopped. And I can't get started again.

I guess I stopped everything while they were here. I didn't exercise, we ate like hogs so my diet went to shit, and now I'm having a really difficult time getting going again. Except for running; that I've done four times. But I'm eating the worst shit, and I can't get myself to sit down and start working on my writing again.

Wish I knew what it was about my psyche that does this, and how to overcome it.

I guess in a way it's a lesson on remaining vigilant, and how easy it is to lose ground.

Don't look at the scale. Do your thing for a month and then check.

Sounds like good advice.

You can't control how much you weigh today.

You can control your next meal.

I have faith in you.

Lifted yesterday, rest day today. Yoga and soccer tomorrow, lifting and soccer on Thursday, soccer game on Friday, soccer on Saturday morning, soccer Sunday night...then it starts all over.

Does anybody know anything about VO2 supplements? Are they safe? Would anyone recommend them for a semi-serious distance runner?

I can't jog five miles, but if you ever need someone to go jogging with, let me know. I think my goal is going to be to get up at 6:30, and run as far as I can in an hour of a morning.

They are useless.

http://fitexcellence.com/2010/05/asinine-arginine/

There are lots of studies on them for distance runners in particular, and they don't work.
