Already had that conversation, yet it is all you have. You are and idiot.

The point was the more he was asked to do the lower his numbers would be, specifically qb rating and it is lower by about 10% compared to last year when he had less attempts per game. I thought it would go down about 20% with 35+ attempts so 10% is acceptable if he can maintain that over the course of the season.

I understand that, I just posted what I read in the comments of an article.

As for the number of attempts, it was acted like 30 was a magical number and I simply said coming into the season that passing a lot wasn't gameplanned before, it was, in general, only used in catchup where prior mistakes cost them the game, not anything to do with number of attempts.

He wouldn't necessarily be asked to do much more in difficulty from passing more, so why a big plummet prediction some had? Defenses can creep in due to short passes and know that Reid likes to pass, but production should be in the range. And it has been rating wise with totals going up (obviously with quantity of throws increasing). YPA is down but increasing each game so far. Completion won't be 70 but may go up over time.

I meant to come back to the board closer to your post, but got busy.

I expected nothing less. I said this during the game. Just the east coast bias.

He's fine. Just needs to stop being such a pussy. He was less of one last week.

They have to game plan for more intermediate throws this week. The Titans are really good on third down so they key to this game will be to keep from getting to third down since the Chiefs are atrocious at 3rd and short.

Should be interesting to see how they play this one out.

Yep, typical east coast bias, especially with the NFC East. You could beat the Eagles or Cowboys 144 to 3 and ESPN's lead off would be about the Cowboy's D or why the Eagles lost the ToP battle.

Their world ends at the Mississippi River and everything between there and the Hudson is uncharted wilderness.

Steve Young has a single ring, and he is second to only one QB in the entire History of the Universe, IMO.

Eli doesn't even enter the equation, except by contrast.

Not TRUE at all.

He has three. Just because he didn't start, doesn't mean he doesn't have them. He played a lot during those two seasons if memory serves. So he did earn it.

Eli Manning, is the equivalent at this point to Robert Horry.

Just ridiculously clutch in the playoffs.

I understand that. But for the purposes of this discussion, I don't think we were including second stringers, which is what Steve was at the time.

Halfcan 10-07-2013 11:34 AM

Alex needs to step it up this week and smash the Faders.

Hammock Parties 10-07-2013 05:58 PM

The numbers for Alex Smith through 5 games are not good, folks.

Quote:

19th in yards per game.

18th in TD percentage

26th in yards per attempt

28th in yards per completion

20th in completion percentage

18th in QB rating.

25th in third-down conversion percentage
If we dive into Pro Football Focus statistics, it gets worse.

Quote:

19th in accuracy percentage (a huge decline for Alex from last year)

31st in attempts over 20 yards.

29th in completions over 20 yards.

(3 for 9 overall in that category)

25th in accuracy percentage under pressure.

There's no debate now. So far we're getting below average QB play. The offense is averaging only 20 points a game.

The good part - he's not turning the ball over, and he's getting sacked at an average rate instead of a league-worst rate.

But that is not good enough, no matter what our record is. Our QB play needs to pick up.

No extensions.

Phobia 10-07-2013 06:09 PM

Cherry picked stats for your agenda is obvious. Clearly we need more production from offense but QB is the least of this team's concern right now.

O.city 10-07-2013 06:10 PM

Clay's a future bet welcher?

Cherry picked? That's just about every statistic there is.

You'd have to cherry pick to find a *good* stat.

That's a mountain of shit from our QB.

No, it isn't the least of this team's concerns. Pretty close to the top, actually.
