I just think he doesn't want to take the heat from the ****storm that will follow if he does. Having said that at some point they'll have to call it if it doesn't stop raining. This is the longest rain delay I can remember without having them have called it by now. It's been at least 2 and a half hours. They don't wait that long generally before calling a game.

Yeah, and it's also 1a.m. in St. Louis as well.

In this situation, they'll wait it out if they see a break in the storm The shitstorm that would come from a team losing while being ahead is huge.

Anyone know how long it takes to drive from St. Louis to Chicago? The umpire crew has to be there by 1:20pm Central. That's what time the Cubs game they are umpiring starts.

So no matter what time it is, if the rain dies down they'll step onto the field to finish the game?

In this situation, my guess is yes. No way does the umpiring crew want to give a win to a team that is currently behind.

I'm guessing they'll get a nice chartered flight
