I just can't get past the vivid details...I can't read it and get past the (and he was a big dude!) part and think the post was intentional satire.

I have no doubt that it was made up, or very little doubt...

but I don't think he intended it to be satire

I think he thought we'd all be like, "oh, good point!" and when everyone was like, "uh, wtf?" he freaked out and deleted the post and then said he'd never post again

so uh

again

what?

NO NFL TEAM IS GOING TO TOUCH RAY RICE

...so the NFL suspends him indefinitely

for what reason? To save face.

I just don't know how you can be like 2 GAMES!!! and then the guy does everything right from then on...and then another video surfaces from the same incident he was suspended 2 games for...he gets released and then the NFL says, "INDEFINITE!"

I'd sue the **** out of the NFL if I were Ray Rice.

Yeah, I think what Vick did was worse and he got to come back.

It's because you're an old man now and see little excitement in pushing every boundary you encounter.

Only way that happens is if a jury finds that his actions were reasonable.
The league doesn't have to follow a jury's decision.

It is possible that it was a joke. Some people, like FAX, would get extremely butthurt over the smallest of criticisms and leave for months. Maybe he's one of those types.

Hootie 09-14-2014 10:04 AM

I just fail to see how, in a league where there have been DOZENS of reported domestic assaults...how this one, because it was caught on tape, is any worse.

also

if Janay Rice wailed on Ray Rice for 10 minutes and Rice just took it...whatever. We'd all be like lolololololololololol

but when we see Rice KO his fiance...it's the end of the world

I just hate the double standard. I'd never hit a woman...because, you know...why? I think physical fighting is ridiculous anyways. I've never been in a fight in my life. But blah blah blah....I just don't understand how Elin Nordgren can hit Tiger Woods with a golf club and we can all be like, "good for her!!!!!" but then we see idiot Ray Rice punch his fiance and the world stops.

She had a fighting chance with Tiger Woods. Not so with Rice's fiancee

I guess I just think of jokes as things that are, you know, supposed to be funny. I get when jokes fall flat...I try to be funny all of the time and a lot of times things I say are misconstrued.

I just don't get how telling a story about a buddy at work (a big dude, by the way) who shoves 1 finger up his child's ass for a C, 2 for a D, and 3 for an F (a big dude, in case you didn't know) could ever be construed as a joke...you know, ever.

I've read some baffling posts on CP in my day...this one pretty much takes the cake. I have read it now like 14 times trying to figure out the angle and I'm still perplexed.

Look, I'd never hit a woman. I'd never hit a man. I'm not a violent person. But ****. Do I think Ray Rice is the worst person in America? Uhm, no.

Do I think Adrian Peterson should be beating his children with tree branches? Uhm, no. I have 3 nephews and a niece and I can't imagine my sisters or their husbands doing that to them...and they wouldn't, because, well they are rational.

But, ya know...I wasn't beaten with a switch when I was a kid. Was Adrian Peterson? Seems like it. Should he have probably weeded that out of his parenting style? Yep. Do I think he'll ever do it again now? No, I don't. Do I think he made a terrible mistake? Sure. Do I think he needs to sit out a football season because of it? No.

This shit is super hilarious to me. He played the entire preseason and the Vikings certainly knew of this upcoming possibility of an indictment. It becomes public? DEACTIVATED. It's a ****ing joke.

Yeah, you're a idiot.

And the Vikings would not necessarily know about the possibility of an indictment.

I guess I just don't want to say anything that makes people think, "wow, what an idiot."

I just don't see the difference between a woman hitting a man with a golf club and Ray Rice knocking the **** out of his fiance.

I think both parties made gross mistakes.

I think, now, Ray Rice is going to pay for his mistake 10 times worse than what he should have paid.

So, you know...IMO he went from the ****ing idiot moron to the victim. It's pretty pathetic that Ray Rice could be the victim in this case. But IMO, he is. And I truly understand how unpopular that thought is.

well if you truly think the Vikings did not necessarily know about the possibility of an indictment

then

Yeah, you're an idiot.
