That guy...takes liberties. You can just tell. |
The Bears are proud to present our most decorated living quarterback to make our 4th-round pick.
Johnny Lujack won the starting job at Notre Dame as a sophomore in 1943, when the team's starting quarterback went to WWII. He led them to a national championship. Johnny played that year, then went into the Navy himself for two years. He returned in 1946, winning two more national championships and being awarded the Heisman Trophy in 1947. But he was eligible for the NFL draft in 1946, and the Bears took him with the 4th pick in the first round. So Johnny actually played two full college seasons after being drafted into the NFL. He played for the Bears for four seasons, earning Pro Bowl slots in 1950 and 1951. (Interestingly, his best season was 1949, and his pro bowl selection in 1950 came on the heels of a 4 TD/21 Int season. But he scored 11 rushing touchdowns in 1950, which solidified his spot.) He made the playoffs in 1950, but lost the only playoff game of his career. So yeah, he's better than Trubisky. Lujack steps to the podium and speaks: The Chicago Bears select Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tOwja8TSd0Q" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Johnny now passes a PM to the Eagles for their next pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles select Daniel Wise, DT, Kansas
Time for the Eagles to start getting younger and cheaper on defense. With Jernigan and Ngata out, Wise can get some rotational experience inside. Wise is raw but has pass rush upside and is an effort player. |
Chargem sent me a list for his Dallas pick as he said he would not be around.
Rain Man stole Sternberger off the top of his list. So... The Dallas Cowboys select Dawson Knox, TE, Ole Miss |
The Indianapolis Colts select Armon Watts, DT, Arkansas
|
The Los Angeles Chargers select Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston.

We have a history of corruption here in Chicago, you know. |
If I thought this would actually happen and Buffalo has our pick here I would be so very pissed because I have no idea why this guy is still on the board (am I spelling it wrong?)
Terry McLaurin, WR - Ohio State **** I wish I were making this pick for Kansas City. |
the new York Giants select Trey Pipkins, OT, Sioux Falls
