Not super optimistic about the idea of our receivers getting open against Baltimore’s DBs

IowaHawkeyeChief 01-20-2024 06:13 PM

I don't understand their defensive ends/OLB always leaving the edge...

Frazod 01-20-2024 06:13 PM

They needed some STOP FORREST signs on that play. LMAO

Battle-tested doesn't have much to do with it. Houston doesn't have very good players on defense, while Baltimore has very good players on defense.

Houston was drafting #2 overall less than a year ago because they had a very flawed roster. They still have a very flawed roster (especially the defense) and they'll try to fix it over the next couple years.

Experience always counts, talking about their flawed roster only highlights it... they're a young team with a new coach and they all share precious little experience in the playoffs as a group

I saw an interesting comment from a coach that it can be hard to get the guys back in the right mindset after they feel the nice warmth of the locker room at halftime and then walk back out there for the 2nd half.

That seems to have happened with this Houston team today. They did very well in the first half as a warm weather team, but I think the locker room warmth killed their mojo as soon as they stepped back into the 20 degree weather for the 2nd half.

I think there was simply a finite amount of standing up to vastly superior line play on both sides of the ball.

Mostly they won't. I'm hoping Rice is as advertised and he finds ways to get open with some consistency, plus all the manufactured touches Andy's going to install if we have to play BAL. But the rest of our WRs will get cancelled.
