Tommy Kelly is great value at this level. The list I was working off showed him already drafted, so I never considered him. That's what I get for not doing my own homework.

chiefscafan 07-21-2009 11:14 AM

I personally like my ferguson pick run stopper and takes up blocks so LBs can make plays team is coming along.

Yeah, the list I have received has about 80% of the available players and I think I have accurately scratched off about 98% of the players drafted, I know I've missed a few.

So, I've started using the "search this thread" option and typing the name there...

I'll say this -- playing this game even for a few days had forced me to learn a ton more about the players around the league. There are lots of very good players that you don't hear much about because they don't play glamor positions, their team doesn't go deep in the playoffs, and they don't go to the probowl. Unfortunately, few of these players play for the Chiefs. We really did a terrible job of drafting during the DV years and only a little better while Herm was here.

Yep, I agree with all of this.

5 more picks and I'll be picking a player that I'm really surprised is still there. If I had been paying attention....I wouldn't have traded down.

Not and OL... you might be targeting TE, but I think you're looking WR/RB.

You need a 3rd WR and I recall other comments, but if I were a gambling man, I think I would say WR first and RB second.

You better hope that 75% of those picks pan out. If not....you're going to be seriously screwed in the long run.

doomy3 07-21-2009 02:57 PM

I was basically flipping a coin between Zach and Heath Miller anyway, so I'm good with that. Heath is a much better blocker anyway, plus I already have a great receiving TE.

I'm behind on trades over the last several days. Could anyone making a trade since last Tuesday please let me know what they are? Many thanks.

I'm learning as we go, and one of the things I would do differently would be to have everyone use a code word in any post with a trade announcement. Something unusual like Zygote or Quigley, where a search will instantly bring up all trades and nothing else. It's murder to try to hunt down a trade notice.

I liked Baker. Injury aside, he was my top-rated tackle left on the board.

I'm learning as we go, and one of the things I would do differently would be to have everyone use a code word in any post with a trade announcement. Something unusual like Zygote or Quigley, where a search will instantly bring up all trades and nothing else. It's murder to try to hunt down a trade notice.

I think you got the trade between doomy and myself, but I don't know if you got the trade between me and darosa88.

He got my Vet 21 and 27.

I got his rookie R4, both rookie R5 and his vet R31.

Fat Elvis 07-21-2009 05:38 PM

I (beleive) have a vet 26, 28, 29, 31(x2) 32, & 33 I'm looking to trade for rookie picks. Make offers.

doomy3 07-21-2009 05:40 PM

I like Baker. Was hoping to grab him in my next few picks.

doomy3 07-21-2009 05:42 PM

Rain Man, can you update the red draft order in the thread starter with the new owners? Sully and SCChief are still listed, and that's what I look at when I'm sending PMs

Ok, you want to add to your current bounty of 26 rookie picks?

I think you're going to be hard pressed to field a team worth much in the early years...

That's my fond nickname for you. But if you want to be formal about it, I guess I'll change it.
