Is it bad I don't give a shit at all about ILB?

I really don't. Never did.

It's like the easiest position to plug-and-play. Any number of players, should they be smart enough, should be able to handle it.

Like the year we ran Pat Thomas out there. Different defense but still that worked out great.

ChiefMojo 04-27-2012 08:25 PM

Stephenson is not a bad pick at all but some of you make him sound like he is the worst player in the world for fit or need. We need OT's for depth right now and he also is a future starting LT. He went off the board right were he was suppose to... 3rd/4th round range.

He is a tremendous athlete at LT and just needs some time to heal up his nagging injuries right now. I like the pick.

I guess that I am just not a fan of taking someone strictly for depth at the top of the 3rd.

Anyone at a skill position will rotate in and play without someone being benched. Defensive players will rotate in. A backup tackle will only play in case of injury. Take those guys later and take the skill position early.

OnTheWarpath15 04-27-2012 08:34 PM

I like OL depth but Stephenson is not a good football player. It's not the position, it's the player. We seem to like the workout warriors vs actual football players. Bad formula.

12 tackles against Conference USA competition and the excuse is he played every position and played all the time?

BTW I heard a stat his career vs the SEC 5 games 6 tackles. There will be an undrafted guy who's put up more production than that.
