Correct, then they take the onside kick, get it and attempt a FG to tie with no time left

Safety eliminates that possibility completely, it was very smart

Mahomes is now tied with Joe Montana at 16 Playoff wins. Mahomes has a 84% win percentage. Montana was 70%. Tom Brady was 73%. Amazing what Patrick has already done. 7 straight conference title games before age 30. Ridiculous!!!

Rain Man 01-18-2025 06:41 PM

We should give a shoutout to Matt Araiza for taking one for the team. That 18 yard loss means that he now has the third-lowest rushing yards per attempt in NFL history. We need to let him take some victory kneel downs or something to get his average closer to zero. Or maybe give him a fake so he can get a positive yardage total.

Iowanian 01-18-2025 06:41 PM

In regards to the 2 "controversial" calls I thought the first one was borderline. He launched into Mahomes and I didn't think that was that bad of a call. The 2nd roughing call was really bad.

I’ve been waiting my entire life to have a QB good enough to get “controversial” call in the playoffs. Not apologizing for shit.

Considering the complete lack of WRs today, pretty sure they respected the Texans CBs and also wanted to keep some things in the bag.

I'd be curious to see how many times they threw at Stingley. I can't recall too many times. They did their best to stay away from the strengths of Houston's defense.

JFC it was a questionable roughing call in the first quarter.

That one wasn’t even all that questionable. You could see the crown of the defender’s helmet connect with Mahomes’ facemask from the sideline angle. At high speed, they’re going to call that.

The second RTP was total bullshit. Once the QB is a runner, they need to keep those flags in their pockets.

The second RTP wasn't bullshit. The Texan hit Mahomes in the helmet with his forearm as he slid.

You can make the argument that the defenders were leading with their helmets in an attempt to spear him, but he’s a runner at that point. If that was Kareem or Pacheco or Mixon, they do not get that call.

Mahomes slid suuuuper late and I think the onus should be on the offensive player to slide early to protect themselves, not the other way around.
