I absolutely love this quote. Is this yours or did you pick it up somewhere? I've seen you post this before & I find myself thinking about it a lot. Good stuff!

Wondering if I need some electrolyte replenishment with Gatorade or something rather than just water.....

If you can make it through your run without hitting the wall, you're fine. If those last two miles are hard because of your conditioning, that's one thing. If it's because you're out of energy, that's another. You could try consuming one of those gel packs halfway through your run. I would suggest that you keep doing it without the extra energy for a few more runs. If it remains a problem, then it's an energy issue. If not, then it was a conditioning issue.

Just drink plenty of water. Are you trying to lose a little weight as well? If so, refrain from consuming sports drinks or gels, as they're full of sugar (obviously).

I picked it up somewhere else, but I can't remember where. I say it to myself a lot, too.

Actually, it basically says there's hypertrophy from protein supplements, but not carbohydrate supplements.

"[T]he present results indicate that ingestion of protein is advantageous when muscle hyper-trophy is desirable, which may be relevant for bodybuilders and individuals concerned with augmenting muscle size."

If you really want to study the effect of protein on muscle-building, you should read "How Much Protein" by Brad Pilon. Lots of scientific evidence there. Basically says that athletes need more than the average person, but not as much as supplement companies claim. 120g on the upper end, and about 80g on the very low end.

It's good. I like it a lot more now that it's not so hot and I can comfortably drive around with the top down. Replacing all the blown speakers helped, too.

Shitting your pants doesn't count as weight loss ;)

****. Yes.

Had 1.5 games tonight, 1 full game then 1 make-up half from the cancellation last week.

Won the first one 5-3. We were up 5-1 in the first half and then just played off for the second, saving our energy. Played the second half of the second game immediately after... we were down 2-0 when the game was cancelled. Came back and scored 3 in the 2nd half to win 3-2. **** yes.

2 games, 2 wins, undefeated. Feels great.

Feels like this thread is falling apart.

Off-day yesterday, soccer tonight.

Yoga and lifting tomorrow.

Stopped giving a **** about diet for now. Getting enough exercise that it's not a problem to stay ripped.

My exercise routine isn't interesting enough to post about it.

I generally run on the treadmill until I can't stands it no more. Then do some lifting, but generally don't hit that too hard.

After reading too many sites saying after 90 minutes of running you need energy, I went ahead and tried one of those energy gels on my 12.5 mile run. It actually helped out, I was able to finish strong and was not dragging the last 2 miles. Only thing that would have made it better was if a couple hot chicks would have slowed down so I could follow them longer :)
