I played racquetball last night for the first time in about a month. My elbow still isn't 100%, but it's better than it was. I iced it & took some advil when I was done & it got better pretty quick.

It's still not feeling great, but I think I'll start lifting this week (no pull-ups & no curls) and continue with the ice & advil.

Going back on 0 carb on the 1st. Remind me to eat all the cookies tomorrow.

Just got a health screening done. Feelin pretty good about the results, but plenty more work to do. It's pretty frustrating that the weight comes off so slowly but oh well, and progress is very, very slow, it seems. I'm used to immediate gratification.

Yoga tonight. My left hamstring is extra tight today so hopefully get to work on that this evening.

I'm having a hell of a time getting back on a regular schedule. Only averaging 2-3 days at the gym per week. Maintaining a regular fast, though.

School year started back. I'm department head this year, going for my national board certification, and teaching a new course. That's professionally. Personally one of our kids started kindergarten, and we've pulled the other one back to daycare only 3 days a week, so my wife has him home with her while she works for 2 days. This requires some extra support from me. We're also starting a major addition to our home.

All of that is my excuse for why I've been pretty absent from the thread. I've been unmotivated in my workout (and lacked the time), so I've been unmotivated to participate much in the thread.

Yesterday, I decided that I would ride my bike to work. Then, I rode my bike to the gym, then I worked out. Then I rode my bike home. Then I died.

All told, I rode about 15 miles. Mixing in the lifting at the gym though, and the eight hours on my feet at work.... I was exhausted.

I still am. Back, biceps tonight. Probably no biking.

Good practice last night. Lost 2lbs of water weight from start to finish (1.3lbs of it replenished by morning). After, a big salad and a bowl of the white bean tarragon soup.

Bike commuting is a killer way to get in some extra fitness. I loved it when I did it in Colorado. I'd bike to work. Lift and climb in the morning with a fellow teacher. We had climbing club for and with the kids after school. We sometimes played Ultimate with them as well. Then bike home. I was in hellacious shape and the majority to the "work out" was just part of my day... not even extra scheduled workout time.

Lifted tonight, then played soccer.

Just had what felt like my first sign of progress running in months. Ran @34 minutes on Wednesday. I decided to increase my time from 30:00 to 32:30 this week, and me being me forgot to start my watch the very first day *smacks forehead*. Ended up doing 3.13 miles total, which makes about 10:52 a mile. Anybody's who's been running for a long time would consider that really, really slow, but I was completely gassed when I was done.

Went out again today, actually remembered to start my watch this time, and covered the same distance I ran Wednesday in 31 minutes. So I basically just blew away everything I've done since I started running again. I'm really curious what the pedometer will tell me tomorrow morning - my guess is that I may have shaved :30/mile from Wednesday's run.

No idea what got into me. Maybe just the difference between running when it's 80 and running when it's 70.

May not have another day like this all year, but man, feels pretty good.

1.5hr yoga practice tonight, then made some whole-wheat pancakes.

Tomorrow I'll sweat my ass off at the Florida game.

Silock 09-03-2010 09:06 PM

Lifted 2 sets of 12 for lots of exercises on Wednesday, then soccer... off day yesterday, then lifted 5x5 today and did some core, played soccer again. Soccer in the morning, too.

But for now, time to eat lots of pizza. Mmmmm...

Not really working out. Not counting calories. But I must have changed my eating habits because 4 weeks of not counting and I haven't gain or lost a pound. Still sitting at -50 pounds from April.

Trainer says my legs are weak. :(
