That Jets offense is looking dangerous. Santonio Holmes looks revitalized with Geno, and Stephen Hill is a perfect deep threat.

And they can run the ball and pass protect.

That's a wild card team, easy.

Why is it a crime to be a fan of football players that aren't on the Chiefs? What's wrong with wishing the Chiefs drafted those players?

Geno looks legit. The team believes in him. Everyone on the team is playing better with Geno at quarterback over Sanchez. That's what good quarterbacks do.

He is making flat out amazing throws deep down the field while under big pressure and getting hit on the plays.

Alex Smith will never make the kinds of plays that Geno Smith did TODAY.

Geee, I don't know. Why are so many people pissed that Alex Smith fans are here?

No one can convince me that picking a RT over a QB prospect as talented as Geno is was the right decision.

Not after today.

That was a first-round QB out there.

{start NFL groupthink}It was the safe pick and therefore the right pick!{/groupthink}

BossChief 09-22-2013 07:14 PM

Remember when certain people said:

"You don't draft a quarterback that can't step right in and win games right away and lead a team. There are no quarterbacks in this class that can do that. They made the right choice drafting Fisher over any of these "unworthy" quarterbacks. He will stabilize our line and give us an upgrade to Eric Winston and we can move him to left tackle when that scrub Branden Albert leaves next year. Good riddance!"

Why because they squeaked by a Bills team that is also starting a rookie QB, was missing players in the secondary, and lost CJ Spiller during the game?

Move those goalposts.

Otter 09-22-2013 07:41 PM

You know what would be cool? If Geno Smith died trying to save a baby from a burning building so we could never answer the question of whether or not he's a good NFL QB, he becomes a martyr and you guys all die choking each other in some sort of hands-on Mexican standoff.

This thread would never die.

BossChief 09-22-2013 07:41 PM

I remember a few days after the playoff loss in early 2011 when StevieRay was so mad at me when I spoke the truth about Cassel having already peaked that he wanted to make a 1 year ban bet with me.

Dudes a cool cat, but he Always has a nice pair of rose colored glasses on.

Alex Smith has played as well as a game manager can...but its highly doubtful that he ever plays at the level that franchise quarterbacks can. He has NEVER made the types of throws Geno Smith made (with perfection) today.

Spiller is a much more dynamic player. Those were nice throws but lets be honest he doesn't put up those numbers if Gilmore and McKelvin weren't injured.

Why wouldn't he?

We can play this game though...

Watching Geno play QB is exciting, win or lose. Watching Smith play QB is like taking a constipated, 3 hour, habenero shit while a hungry piranha attempts to chew your nutsack off.

1) Do you enjoy watching football games that the Chiefs aren't playing in?

2) When you watch the movie titanic, do you think the boat just might stay afloat THIS TIME?

3) Do you watch college football?

So, the count so far is 3 touchdown passes and 7 turnovers.

They work together. A good running game opens up a good passing attack and vice versa. Right now every defense knows we have one of the best running backs in the league so they focus on stopping the run. If we had a qb that could take advantage of that by throwing the ball downfield, we would be unstoppable.

Isn't this an Alex/Geno thread?

Doesn't really matter. Coverage was pretty good. Geno was picking the flies off a rhino at 60 yards.

His game winning TD throw was a gem.

The dude has a killer instinct you don't see in most 2nd round QBs.

Yes, in my eyes Alex is NOT the QBOTF, But with a new FO coming in, we needed a stop gap. The new FO needed to get this team back on track winning games, at least get to .500

Right, and I don't think many of the geno fans on this forum wanted him to come in and start right away. We wanted this franchise to invest in a qbotf in what was considered by some the best qb in the draft. Alex smith was already traded for and makes an excellent stop gap. I think all of us here are actively rooting FoR Alex to succeed. Getting bray active in the pre season definitely helped lessen the blow on what happened in the draft, but it's still fun to watch geno show his stuff.
