They work together. A good running game opens up a good passing attack and vice versa. Right now every defense knows we have one of the best running backs in the league so they focus on stopping the run. If we had a qb that could take advantage of that by throwing the ball downfield, we would be unstoppable.

We wanted this franchise to invest in a qbotf in what was considered by some the best qb in the draft. Alex smith was already traded for and makes an excellent stop gap. I think all of us here are actively rooting FoR Alex to succeed. Getting bray active in the pre season definitely helped lessen the blow on what happened in the draft, but it's still fun to watch geno show his stuff.
