Throwing shit on the field at players is just the lowest of lows.

Not even. All they Raiders had to do was complete passes and not run into each other and the Refs had it tagged and bagged for the Faid. They just somehow forgot that Radiers always gonna Raider.

I've been watching it since the late 80s/early 90s, and it's always been that way :

Hasty's interception return
Elvis's last second pass to Rison
Around Thanksgiving weekend 2020 with the last second TD to Kelce

The only exceptions in my memory :

Barefoot kicker

The JaMarcus Russell game

The time during the Pioli-era where we actually lost to them in OT

The Thursday Night Game where the refs kept flagging Scandrick for phantom DPIs until Oakland finally ****ing scored.

The time we were undefeated but Mahomes threw an interception in Arrowhead and somehow the Raiders held on and didn't actually **** it up.

That's it.

We all criticize playcalling now and then, but it's clear that this is a very well-coached team. Over the last few years, how many times have the Chiefs started a game looking physically overmatched in the trenches, and like no one but Mahomes and a select few belonged on the field? Only to completely turn the tables. Obviously Mahomes deserves a lot of credit too.

At one point it was 17-0, near halftime, and Mahomes was sacked for a big loss. Did anyone think they'd end up scoring 30 at that point? It's amazing how they can adjust, but it's majorly disappointing to see Brown getting embarrassed by every decent edge rusher. They'd better not pay that guy. They can get his level of play for much less.

When we cut the lead in half before halftime, there was no doubt in my mind we'd storm back in the second half

FAX 10-11-2022 11:20 AM

Two things:

1) During his first training camp, it was obvious that OBJ struggles with speed rushers (you could see it in one-on-ones). That hasn't changed. Obvious things are obvious.

2) Two Faider receivers smashing into each other 30 yards downfield on the final play of the game has to be acknowledged as the most Faider thing ever. Speaking for myself, I shall never forget that moment.

Game might have been outright tied at halftime without the BS penalty on Carr's fumble. That was at least a 6 point swing, maybe a 10 point swing.

staylor26 10-11-2022 11:29 AM

Adams and Renfrow running into each other was hialrious, but that pass wasn't getting completed either way. Carr threw up a prayer because Bolton was running towards him at full speed ready to kill.

Not sure why these QB's keep going for deep shots in critical short yardage. Mahomes & Carr both did this at the end of the game last night. Rodgers kept doing it on 3rd down against the Giants. It led to a punt every time for Aaron.

Yeah, it's stupid. Getting a first down there is just as good as a 30 yard play. In fact, if the Raiders score a TD there, KC gets the ball back with time on the clock and timeouts. The Raiders gameplan should have been to get into FG range and kick with no time remaining.

And the route timing had already been blown up at the LOS. That little delay that Williams created with the jam on Adams is why they ran into each other.

O.city 10-11-2022 11:38 AM

What is the defense expecting you to do? Throw for just enough to get a first.

The long plays are open. Just connect on them.

I was holding my breath they weren't gonna flag Bolton for RTP there. He gave him a shot.

it’s absolutely insane that we can go from getting physically dominated completely to outscoring the other team 30-12. i really thought it just wasn't our night but they literally flipped a switch, it was insane

I'm glad the Raiders were dumb enough to do it. I just wish Mahomes would have been smarter on the 3rd and 3. Chiefs didn't need anything other than a first down. Heck, he could have run it himself and probably at least setup 4th and 1 or something.

But then I see Aaron Rodgers at nearly 40 years old after 4 MVP's still trying to force deep shots on 3rd and short or 3rd and medium. If that guy is doing it after all his experience, I'm not sure Patrick will ever grow out of this tendency.

Not disagreeing with you that Mahomes should not have thrown that last pass to Hardman.
It seemed to me, watching the replay last night that PMII expected Hardman to keep going more vertical, whereas he ended up running at more of a 45 degree angle.
That being said, PMII should have gone for something shorter or run for it.

When we went down 17-0 my wife said I may as well go to bed, we’re getting our asses kicked. I told her 17 points ain’t shit. Mahomes was gonna carry us to a W. She laughed. Mahomes has only shown us what he’s capable of being down big a dozen times! Most of the time, he’ll figure it out.

It doesn't even get really interesting until we're down by double digits.

Neither one should be roughing.

Agreed.

The biggest issue is that there's no real consistency about when they call it (obviously or Mahomes would've benefitted from an identical roughing the passer call last night), largely because the language in the rule is so broad. What the hell is "unwarranted"? for example. Or, "unnecessarily wrestling . . ." just what the hell does that mean?

Also, the entire phrase, "When in doubt about a roughness call or potentially dangerous tactic against the quarterback, the Referee should always call roughing the passer . . ."

That's just completely arbitrary nonsense.

jdubya 10-11-2022 10:28 PM

From a fellow Raider fan.

"We were dominant in the first half...I don't know how it looked on TV but we were kicking their ass from the word go. And the fans got real restless very quickly. That roughing call raised that level in the stadium to a rage level that had all of us a little worried. And we've got people in this group that can flat out handle themselves but it was still unnerving. We all experienced it and everyone I was with that was wearing a Raider jersey did as well. We had people in our group that were being threatened if we didn't shut up and I had some ****ing weirdo taking pictures of my wife and daughter and I had to set him straight. At the end of the game we had three altercations with these surrounding fans that almost ended in a brawl. And the Chiefs fans that were with us who are season ticket holders said that it was the most embarrassing display of collective aggressive behavior they have ever seen."

Coaches need to tell Juan Thornhill that from now on he has to get in phase with a player like Josh Jacobs and engage his upper body to make a tackle.

Replay of the game has several ineffective dive at the legs by Thornhill with no attempt to use hands.

It would be better for him to go on 7 yard sleigh ride tackling Jacobs and backs like him than doing nothing but diving and missing.

I would guess that film review is not going to be great for him on Josh Jacobs running plays.

It doesn't even get really interesting until we're down by double digits.

In years past, a 17 point deficit seemed like it was insurmountable. Since Mahomes came on board, I never feel like we're out of it until the clock reads 0:00

It is pretty insurmountable for mere mortals...but Mahomes is a God so...

Same, except for me it was any 10 point lead was a given loss before mahomes.

Same with 3rd down. Anything longer than 3rd-and-5 felt like an automatic 4th down/punting situation. Now I feel reasonably confident we'll convert anything less than 3rd-and-15. Such a wonderful time to be a Chiefs fan.

Just watch this guy play the game. Dude gives it his all on every down. He looks for contact even when he doesn't have the ball. Unfortunately, it plays a role in him getting injured a lot. But he is tough as nails.

We've seen the dude drop 28 in a quarter twice.

Come back from down 10 points with 6 minutes or less multiple times.

Until Mahomes is down 3 scores under 2 minutes and they have the ball, ain't shit over.

The jam and the middle blitz killed it.

I think that play design was likely intended for Renfrow. When the blitz came free Carr knew the route hadn't developed so he threw the prayer hoping Adams could run under it.

Then the jam messed up the timing so bad....well we saw how that worked out.

Perfect defensive call at the perfect time. Everything came together to blow up the play that McDaniels had circled going into that game as his 'best, absolutely gotta have it' play.

Not a good look

The **** it wasn't.

And if those bitchy Raiders fans that have spent decades building a reputation for hooliganism and can't even write a message board post without including 'can flat handle themselves' have a problem with their own medicine, they're free to fist a collie.

The Arrowhead crowd was amazing.

So I'm guessing they've never been to Oakland.

There is irony here.

"Raider fans are thugs"

"Raider fans are classless"

Both fan bases are fanatical and nearly identical. Some are passionate but have some self control and some are belligerent assholes......same everywhere

I just love fan fiction. I really liked the part about “some random dude was taking pics of my wife and daughter”.

Really pulls at the heartstrings.

That's funny. Here's a Pats fan that says everyone was nice to him on Monday.

Quote:

Pats fan's first time at Arrowhead yesterday - A+++ experience, just a general thank you to the community

Brought my girlfriend on a trip to KC for the last three days for her birthday as she's a huge Chiefs fan, and I've got nothing but great things to say about this weekend as a whole.

I didn't meet a single unpleasant person on the trip as a whole, and the Lot J Tailgate Crew was an incredible community that welcomed us with open arms (even when I told them I was a Pats fan haha).

The game was an experience unlike any other I've been to, and that's just a testament to all you guys who are so passionate about the team. I know Pats fans can get a bad rap, but imo they can be as passionate as just about any other fanbase. However, there are definitely a fair share of assholes that can frequent the games. Well I didn't meet a single one in Kansas City. You guys are just the cream of the crop when it comes to NFL fan bases, I gotta say.

Oh, and the food was unbelievable, too!! Anyway, overall A+++ would totally come back to the Red Kingdom for another game, and I hope to soon!

Thanks again, everyone.

Funny...I saw no less than 3 raiders fans trying to pick fights on the way out of the stadium.

Raiders fans beating people wasn’t a good look either.
