The Chiefs won the important game.

Chiefs have very rarely won the "big" regular season games in the Mahomes era (unless you count the Chargers divisional games). The last one was maybe three years ago at this point. It really doesn't much matter.

The biggest regular season game they won was arguably against the Bucs in 2020.

Exactly.

And people haven't figured out why Andy keeps forcing the horrible part of our offense to win us games. Why he's forcing them out there when we could just run the football or call a screen. Just run clock with the lead.

Because none of that helps you get better at being dependable when it matters. When games are on the line. You better get those guys experience making those plays now. Or give them the L and let them wear it. Force them to feel the failure now so they don't in January...

Yeah, I was thinking about that as I posted it and I think that would have been it. Beat the Bills earlier that year too. Really hasn't happened since.

Outgained the Eagles by 100 yards.

Held the Eagles under 250 yards of offense. About 1/3 of their yardage came on 2 plays.

2 red zone turnovers and I don’t even know how many drops saved the Eagles.

RaidersOftheCellar 11-20-2023 11:35 PM

An offense led by Mahomes and Kelce, with Reid calling plays, has been held scoreless in the 2nd half three straight times?

****ing pathetic.

I wish I could earn $11 mil this year for sucking at my job like MVS.

And we know how that story ended. Reid showed a lot to the Bucs in that game, and opted to play vanilla against the Bengals two seasons later in our regular season matchup.

And Jalen's fumble that bounced right back to him, deep in Philly territory. Would have given 3-7 points to the Chiefs. Philly got a lucky bounce on Jalen's fumble. Philly got a lucky bounce on Kelce's fumble too.

MVS is a solid 50/50 at the one and only job he's asked to do.

Sad thing is if he only does it once we'll win the game.

As bad as the WR's were, the horrible turnovers from Kelce and Mahomes were big reasons we lost

Patrick put our team in a position to win today.

Our receivers did not. No arguments on Kelce.

We don't allow 21 pts without them. Think about that for a minute.

We just beat the hell out of a team we had to come back to beat in the SB. If we faced them again we'd completely dominate them. I have no doubt about that.

I drive all day, listening to our local sports talk shows, and I swear I would punch the next caller, who says they don't want the new stadium to have a roof because they are a football purist or tradionalist and real football is played in the elements, in the throat given the opportunity.

It's why regular season losses like this don't bother me too much in this era, especially against top teams.

The only thing that matters is performing when it really matters and that means January for this team.

He didn't have the defense he has this year in past years. That was the right call and we should have pinned them inside the 5, but a weird bounce and a miss by the gunner brought it out to the 20.

The risk of giving them a touchback outweighs the benefits of taking the ball out of Patrick Mahomes hands.

I lost it when he punted, because I knew how it was going to play out. Including the ball bouncing into the endzone for a touchback, and Philly passing that field position within a couple plays. Just a dumbass decision that seems to backfire every time.

So much aggravating shit in that second half.

Only consolation to me is that Mahomes showed that he'll still make the plays when it really counts. Unfortunately his receivers completely failed him. I don't know if these guys will ever get better at route running or getting open, but I have to think they'll at least start to catch balls that hit their palms.

MagicHef 11-21-2023 02:34 PM

Mike Edwards deciding to stop chasing D’Andre Swift so he could whine for a flag is one of the more incredible things I’ve ever seen. I think he had a chance to catch him, and he just gave up.

Not if he is carrying the ball right. High and tight and he wouldn't have had the opportunity to punch it out.

I doubt he did. Swift is pretty fast and was already running full speed. Edward’s isn’t particularly fast and was recovering from a massive hold.

I have no issue with Edwards there. That should be called 100% of the time.

JohnnyHammersticks 11-21-2023 03:14 PM

We dropped a ton of passes and had two turnovers in the red zone - not to mention a million penalties.

And we barely lost to the consensus top team in the league. I honestly thought we were clearly the better team last night. Our defense is a force to be reckoned with, and would be even more intimidating if our offense would give them some help every now-and-then.

Cut the drops, turnovers, and penalties in half and we would've won that game by at least 10 points.

I think KC was clearly the better team. Which is why it pissed me off. If you're the lesser team, you just tip your cap and hope to close the gap as the season goes on.

The bomb to MVS would have been a hell of a way to win. The place would have erupted. Sucks that you can't count on an $11 million dollar WR to catch a ball that hits him squarely in the hands.

I'm not generally one to pile on a player, but it's time that he took some criticism. He's done jack shit this year. More negative plays than positive. I've wondered why Mahomes doesn't go deep to him more often, but I think I'm starting to see why. There's a strong chance he'll either screw up the route or drop the ball.

LMAO He turned his head away from Swift to try to find a ref to complain to, and thus missed the fact that Swift had to slow down to avoid Chamarri Conner, who was still actually trying to make a tackle. It was a hold, but it wasn't "massive". It was the kind that gets missed all the time.

Come to think of it, wasn't there an obvious hold by a Chief earlier this season that wasn't called, and the reason given afterward was that the DL "gave up pursuit"? Edwards certainly gave up pursuit.

Some of the tackling was horrendous. Edwards was guilty but there was a particularly awful whiff by Omenihu just before they scored that set them up. He looked pretty $hit for the whole game
