A rookie got better? Dumb shits everywhere are stunned.

I love it though. The haters were hoping he would get benched after his struggles but he flipped them the bird and got better the last quarter of the season? I now have the entire off season to shove it up their asses. Thank you Geno :D

He also played against some of the leagues best defenses during that stretch.

How many quarterbacks have came in and won 8 games their rookie year?

Vince Young comes to mind.

Andrew Luck as well, but best to compare Geno to a African American bust.

His last 4 games were against the Raiders, the Panthers (167 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT), the Browns and Miami. Sure, he was better than the 10.1, 22.3, 8.3 QB rating quy he'd been the three games prior, but he still wasn't exactly lighting it up, and he wasn't exactly facing the '85 Bears.

True, but they did beat the Saints and Pats as well. The team as a whole far exceeded expectations and Geno was a part of that if people want to admit it or not. He's a rookie with a defensive minded head coach surrounded by one of the worst collection of skill position players in the league. The jury is still out, but he obviously learned to cut down on mistakes probably by learning to read defenses. The game will slow down a bit for him next year and I think he takes another step up. Probably into that 15-20 QB range, but haters gonna hate. The major difference the last quarter was the limiting mistakes and rushing yards. He started to pull it down and go instead of forcing a pass that wasn't there. He wasn't really a running QB in college, but his 4.5 40 shows he could go if he wanted to. I think that's a great extra dimension that he has added to his game. Better to run for 5 or 6 and get down than throw the pick.

Geno exploded for four touchdowns in the last quarter of the season. Hooray

Geno Smith will never be a quality NFL QB. Just my feeling.

Alex Smith exploded for 1 in 7 starts as a rookie and look at the cult following he eventually developed. Baby steps and patience with the young QB's is important. He took care of his biggest problem which was turnovers. He'll continue to grow.

Alex's "cult following" might have something to do with him being the Chiefs' QB. Call it a hunch.
