No, but one can be curious without being malicious. Surely you don't disagree with that.

Then your comment would seem to have no basis to it, in context.

Yes. And it is logical to conclude that these requests were malicious/nasty in order to give themselves a giggle.

I'm curious about your mother's books. What's her name again?

The fact that they're curious about her and try to invade her privacy is malicious in an of itself even if the intent to be malicious isn't there. Christ, man, do you have even the slightest ability to empathize?

It's pretty simple. She was apparently distraught enough by being this event that she drove her car off a cliff. We don't know if she saw any of these requests come in before that happened.

But, if she did (or will if she lives), do you think that she'll be pleased with them or not?

The husband was an innocent non-party. Clay was not sending the wife, who is the main party in the drama, a friend request. Clay was trying to get the guy here to read this thread.

I see a significant difference there. You don't seem to see one.

I don't know whether she'll be pleased or not. I expect the same is true of you. Perhaps you know her intimately and have kept that from us, though. If that's the case, I bow to your superior knowledge of her way of thinking.

What privacy is being invaded with a mere friend request that can be denied? You apparently don't need to be her Facebook friend to see her bare ass naked, or to know the basics of her current situation. If you truly had any empathy (your word choice) regarding her situation, and felt that the desire to know more was malicious in itself, you wouldn't be following this thread at all.

Yes, I'm sure that she'll be thrilled to have a bunch of requests come in from Internet dorks wanting to see more nudie pictures of her.

Do I know? No.

Is it logical to assume that a person who apparently tried to kill herself over this incident getting out would find requests of that type to be not a good thing? Yes.

I think it's logical to assume a lot of things. That doesn't make those assumptions correct. It would also be logical to assume, for example, that she was distraught over what she had done, regardless of who knew, and took action based solely upon that.

Yes, I'm sure that the timing of her accident had nothing to do with her behavior becoming public knowledge.

When she started banging students, she sort of lost her right to expect Facebook privacy. If she finds the friend requests upsetting, she should ignore or delete her account. With all the crap she's facing, FB requests should be the least ofher worries. (This is all assuming she is alive and stays that way.)

Of course the requests were done with ill intent, but they have to be the least of her problems right now.

tk13 03-09-2011 05:50 PM

I have to say, this shouldn't even be an argument. If you want to make a couple jokes on here, I can't say it's nice but certainly par for the course. But someone who would find out about something like this and try to friend request the people involved on facebook, for any reason, should probably seek help. That's creepy and borderline psycho. And that's probably being nice about it.
