To be honest, I don't think it's healthy for him to be here. It has the feel of an abusive couple that keeps breaking up and getting back together again.

Clearly, I'm not his daddy but I've tried to be a positive mentor for him in the past. Based on things he's said, I think some of that has been effective while he's made choices in his life to stand by his family and find honest work rather than stealing off the streets to support a drug habit.

I do take issue with "you're being as obssessive about this as he is" though. I don't even know how that's possible considering I have him blocked everywhere. I do value your opinion but you're way off this time. If asking him to volunteer at a charity dedicated to assisting with the things that have impacted his own life isn't a wise choice, what is it I should be encouraging here?

I completely agree. But it's impossible to just ban somebody and wash your hands if they want back in the door. It's even more difficult to do that today than it was 10 years ago. At least 10 years ago we could block IP addresses and they were reasonably static. Now people get a new IP address each time they post. The kid is probably already on here posting and there's really very little we can do about it.

I tend to agree. We all know what he has to gain from getting back onto the board. The question is, what do you gain from NOT letting him back on?

I really don't mind my ideas and decisions being criticized. Afterall, I'm kind of a moron. But criticize and then offer up your own idea. I'd love somebody to have a better idea than mine.
