The news said that the tornado that hit Edwardsville, Illinois and destroyed entire towns in Kentucky might have been the largest in state history.
The devastation is unreal. |
From a weather standpoint---a perfect set up.
cold air and warm humid air. mixing at the right spots. Just no way to stop it. |
Wednesday is going to be an interesting day.

If we do see temps and dew points near 60 tomorrow evening, the tornado threat concerns me. Extreme wind shear and low LCLs, not good. We are under a high wind warning like I've never seen this time of year. I've never seen one like this even for the normal spring season.
The warning actually says to "expect wind gusts in excess of 75mph" and "widespread power outages". |

Wind in these areas (Denver and others) will blow 30 to 50 mph with gusts between 60 and 80 mph. Wind-prone places in and near the foothills may see gusts as strong as 100 mph, the NWS reports. It looks like I should bring the lawn furniture indoors. |
