I’d have no problem paying him at an elite level through his age 31 season in 2025.

AD signs massive extension at 31 has monster season of 5 sacks and sucked

We should’ve gotten rid of CJ 2 seasons ago!

You act like you know what would happen if we did but you don’t. Then again, you swore Tyreek was guilty of assault too….

Have you met the man? If not how the **** would you know this above. He hired an agent to influence his decisions Chris is a football player, not a lawyer versed in all the contractual crap. You can be pissed at his cryptic social media posts but you know nothing of his intelligence none of us do. Something has happened in my opinion that has affected his play nice with negotiations. Possibly promises not kept not resigning his buddy in the offseason. Who knows but he took a complete 180 a few weeks back which seems odd.

Nothing like being accused of bad takes from the guy on the message board whose nearly infinite bad takes makes him a running joke. ROFL

There’s no indication from that article he’s looking for a new 4-5yr deal. If the article is accurate he’s looking for a 2y extension added onto the end of this season.

Veach and his staff know the trends more than we do and before we do. They know the trend of DT's declining around age 31 so this makes a ton of sense.

I'm fine giving him $27 million APY with the $74-80 million gauranteed if it's that 3 year timeframe with a fairly clean way out in that last year.

Think we can all agree that last year was probably the best year of his career and it's not likely he can have a better one. He's gonna have another year, maybe 2, like this before the decline to norm comes.

Jones is an aging DT that specializes is pass rushing and is not consistent against the run. I wish he would buck up and stay but at the same time, buh-bye

Well, that solves one mystery.

I was beginning to think that one of the Katz brothers was Pete. It would explain their weird and out-of-phase with reality tactics/beliefs.

No, Pete.

I have on my side that you said we should’ve cut him 2 years ago and that he’s not good against the run while he then ended up third in DPOY and ranked 7th amongst DTs for run defense en route to a SB victory.

Pretty sure the guy who started threads about the Chiefs not making the playoffs with Mahomes at QB isn’t the guy who gets the benefit of the doubt when he throws out hypotheticals about our winning the SB last season even without Chris Jones.

Please continue to play this caricature of yourself. It’s highly amusing.

Donald's deal is a non-entity. It should have no bearing on any discussions at all. And if Jones and his people want to continue to insist it does, they can hang out on the DNR list.

Biting on shitty attempts at anchoring is for noobs and people with zero leverage. You bet your ass his agents are trying that amateur hour nonsense if Veach is worth his salt, he's still ignoring them.

Tell me how you're worth more than Williams will be over the next 4 years. If you can't, don't come to me with 'well X makes Y!' Because I don't care.

It's more than I would have offered. I hope the Chiefs rip the offer up if continues his holdout and make him play on his current contract when he returns. If he "holds in" then ****ing IRR him and tag and trade his greedy ass next off season.

I said after their age 30 season.

Go look at Warren Sapp’s age 31-36 seasons and tell me if you wanna pay $27+ mil. a year for that. He had one ten sack season. I think most people here would be pretty pissed if we were paying Jones what he wants for several years and only got one 10 sack season out of him.

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of tired of all the BS drama and games that Chris and his agents are playing, but I would agree that I would have no problem paying him fairly through his age 31 season. As long as we stop the train there then I’m on board.

The problem is I don’t think Chris and his agents will be. At least not for the money the Chiefs have offered. And I don’t think they’re moving off it. CJ will either have to sign at our price or he’ll be playing elsewhere next season.
