Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:09 PM

gotta have both FT's

demonhero 02-02-2013 05:11 PM

still making it a game.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:11 PM

why didn't we foul immediately?

Mr. Plow 02-02-2013 05:12 PM

Good. Stop the clock.

Ceej 02-02-2013 05:12 PM

White just needs to shoot his FTs from the 3 point line.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:12 PM

have to make every free throw now

Ceej 02-02-2013 05:13 PM

C'mon Travis.

demonhero 02-02-2013 05:13 PM

thats game bitch

Bambi 02-02-2013 05:13 PM

one possession

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:14 PM

we should of started pressing a long time ago

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:14 PM

oh shit

EJ back in

demonhero 02-02-2013 05:15 PM

no tie up my white ass.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:15 PM

stupid mother ****ers

wait until the best shooter had the ball and then foul him

DJay23 02-02-2013 05:15 PM

I hate that you can reach around a guys back and get a tie up call during most of the game but if you even feign touching the ball at the end of the game it's a foul.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:16 PM

going to need a Bmac 3

Mr. Plow 02-02-2013 05:16 PM

At least we have a shot.

chiefsfan987 02-02-2013 05:16 PM

KU waited way too long to foul on that last possession.

Mr. Plow 02-02-2013 05:17 PM

lol. EJ.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

fitting that EJ would puke on himself

Ceej 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

EJ IS AWESOME!!!

demonhero 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

hahaha.. what a ****'ing bitch EJ. You ended the game like you played.

DJay23 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

Gay. ****ing Elijah.

Al Czervik 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

LOL

How appropriate that EJ loses it....

1ChiefsDan 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

Why the **** was EJ on the floor? Dude was a turnover machine today.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 05:18 PM

coaching fail

EJ should of never had the ball like that

chiefsfan987 02-02-2013 05:19 PM

EJ again. i repeat, why is he on the court? He singlehandedly lost the game today for KU. He had absolutely no business being in the game the final 5 minutes of the game.

Mr. Plow 02-02-2013 05:19 PM

Poor guy. 3-14 from the field, 5 TO - and basically lost the game all by himself.

EJ killed us that game...

Fansy the Famous Bard 02-02-2013 05:20 PM

Did Elijah have money riding on OSU? he shit himself probably 10 times that game... what an absolutely mind-numbing individual performance. He handed the game to them.

Elijah isn't even average.

He's terrible.

He definitely has lost his confidence. I'm not sure sitting him would solve anything - and Self wouldn't do it anyway.

Chiefs Pantalones 02-02-2013 05:22 PM

This team has just been too cocky as well. They think it's over hell when we're up by 4. Hopefully this wakes us up.

Ceej 02-02-2013 05:22 PM

Elijah has been this way all year long on the offensive side of the ball.

LAZY.

lack of confidence isn't the problem imo

He is overestimating his ability to handle the ball

He thinks he is quick enough to do a crossover and blow by guys and he isn't.

He thinks he can charge the lane against 3/4 guys and make the shot ... he isn't.

Self is supposed to play the best player. Johnson wouldn't even be the best player in UMKC.

silver5liter 02-02-2013 05:25 PM

I would not be pissed if ej never played again. Who would take his spot though?

Like I said earlier, he's a 2 playing a 1. Tharpe SHOULD be playing the 1, but Self doesn't trust him....and for good reason. Which is why you see EJ playing it. It's also why Tharpe runs the point when they are both in the game.

LMAO

Overreact much?

Thankfully, I'll trust the guy with 8 straight conference championships that wins 84% of his games.

Braincase 02-02-2013 05:26 PM

And Kansas falls all the way to first place in the Big 12.

Mr_Tomahawk 02-02-2013 05:27 PM

Welp...

I guess there is no pressure on this team of snapping the home win streak or getting the longest win streak under Self.

...Wednesday can't get here soon enough.

Al Czervik 02-02-2013 05:27 PM

Small condolence...

But the Lady Jayhawks beat KSU in OT 89-80....

Ceej 02-02-2013 05:30 PM

Everyone saw a let down coming. I just didn't figure it'd be at home to OSU.

Hopefully this helps the team in the long run.

Chiefs Pantalones 02-02-2013 05:33 PM

I have never felt so good after a loss. Am I ok?

KC_Connection 02-02-2013 05:34 PM

Been saying it all along. If KU kept being lazy and complacent, they were going to eventually lose a game to an inferior opponent. Unfortunate that it had to happen at home, but they were fortunate enough that it didn't happen against Temple and ISU last month and against just plain bad teams in Texas and West Virginia on the road. Marcus Smart and OSU were ready to play today and KU wasn't. It's as simple as that. Hope this gives them the jolt they need to actually give a damn going forward in conference season.

EJ shouldn't of had the ball ... he should of been standing around the 3 line with Bmac and White.

coaching chose that player/play and it was a mistake.

if we are going to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, it's not going to end well.

Just lazy as shit as we were talking about last night. Wasn't focused at all this game and seemed to lose confidence in himself as it went by. That's not a good combination. He can and should be much better than this...we've seen him better than this.

Agreed 100%.

He's the guy that absolutely must turn it on if these guys want to make a run in March.

actually i wish they had to stew with this loss longer, instead of shorter.

our players and coaches need to refocus and reevaluate

we need to commit to not having EJ at the point and we need to figure out what we are going to do the next time a team focuses on pulling Withey away from the paint.

players need to play like they are about to lose all game long instead of just the last 5 minutes.

Yep, Tharpe needs to be at the point more often(if he could suddenly mature, and play a more heady game) I really like him, kind of reminds me of Tyshawn Taylor, you love him one minute and hate him the next!

More like pussies....
OSU was 100 times more physical than KU today.

Sad

KC_Connection 02-02-2013 05:52 PM

KU also underrated OSU. To me, they were always the 2nd best team in the conference. Their difficult road schedule to start the B12 gave the perception that they weren't, but they're excellent defensively and Smart is one of the best players in the nation. It's going to be really tough to beat them in Stillwater.

KU hasn't dealt well with the physicality all year. And OSU was by far the most physical yet. Need to toughen up for sure.

I don't really think they're being lazy, I just think they're making a lot of dumb plays. Turnovers are becoming a big problem. We've played 8 conference games and have turned the ball over more than our opponent in 6 of the 8. That's pretty bad. It's seemingly every game that we're losing the turnover battle.

They might be babies but Self is still the one who called the play to EJ even though it almost never works. How many times has he called for EJ to create off the dribble this year and had it turn to shit?

but yet he still tried it

How about we run a pick play ... a screen ... run Bmac off of double, triple screens to get open?

but no ... we run the same stupid ass play in the final 10 seconds of every half of every game.

DJay23 02-02-2013 05:57 PM

I would love to see Tharpe start at TCU and have EJ be the first man off the bench. I think it might help Tharpe, EJ, and the team. But I'll let Bill Self make those decisions and trust him with it. He's done pretty well for himself.

Falling behind by 14 points at home in the first 10 minutes of a game is the definition of lazy. It shouldn't happen with a team this good against any opponent. The effort just wasn't there for KU to start the game and that ultimately cost them.

The dumb plays come down to a lack of focus, which could also be chalked up to that same laziness that has plagued this team.

The guy likes to complain about the best coach in college basketball over the last decade. Let him live in his delusions.

The problem isn't the plays, it's the execution of them.

ROFL

Are you speaking overall, about the team that just won 18 straight?

Or specifically about that play, that won us a national title and several other games?

You are the epitome of the part of the KU fanbase that no one can stand.

Mr. Laz 02-02-2013 06:07 PM

Running the same play in the same situation every time IS a problem.

No element of surprise reduces the chance of success for any play.

and here we go ...

I just want the team to keep trying to improve and find ways to eliminate mistake and weaknesses.

I say that YOU ARE THE EPITOME of the KU fanbase that no one can stand. You are a entitled, pompous jackass who thinks that every thing about KU basketball is above reproach because of past success.

gblowfish 02-02-2013 06:13 PM

Give OSU credit. They got off to a fast start, out hustled, out muscled and hung in after blowing a big lead. They should get some respect, it's hard to win at Allen.

And KU will get another shot at them on Feb 20th, and maybe another in the tourney.

Prison Bitch 02-02-2013 06:13 PM

I don't see what the problem is. Okie State has some serious ballers on their team and they got hot and led wire to wire, with a few exceptions. Credit them for a well played game.

Did NOT lead wire to wire...
In fact, KU was up 4 with a chance to go up 6 or 7 until EJ decides to
clean his colon on the next two possessions.

It's a problem because we are seeing the same issues repeated for KU.

One loss doesn't mean anything, we will be fine but seeing a trend of problems is an issue if they don't get fixed.

TribalElder 02-02-2013 06:20 PM

At 18.2 seconds to go the clock hesitated to start

I don't have it DVR'd but it definitely looked like a slow start
