Broncos, Patriots, Colts would all beat the Chiefs with the this offense as it is now. Of course, judging by your first paragraph, I guess the playoffs is enough to make most of us happy.

Alex Smith isn't playing poorly as much as he's being careful to a fault. Maybe you can say what's the difference? A bad QB that makes poor decisions isn't an easy fix, Smith needs to loosen up in the worst way. He's smart, and most likely is over thinking everything. In not wanting to make a mistake, he, and the offense become completely ineffectual.
