Trash against the run and overrated. Add to that a terrible attitude and a body that won't hold up.

Well, he is ****ing amazing, that's for sure..

But do you honestly think you would have faired better against Adrian Peterson? Marshawn and Wilson? RGIII and Alfred?

You guys can be run on. If not by complete physical domination (ala what we do to you), through the no huddle if facing an elite QB (a la New England).

ThaVirus 01-06-2013 08:30 PM

What I'm getting at is that, if my memory serves, you guys haven't really played any great rushing teams. Besides us, of course, and we had our way with you in spite of some of the worst QB play this league has ever seen..

Off the top of my head, the only good rushing teams I can remember you guys playing all year were the Texans and the Ravens. Honestly, the Texans aren't doing nearly as well running the ball as they did last year (Arian's stats indicate that) and the Ravens misuse of Ray Rice this season has been criminal.

Your run defense hasn't really been tested..

You were wrong, eh?

Two years ago Jamaal Charles had stats similar to Tatum Bell. But yeah, I was wrong about Jamaal Charles. I don't have any problem admitting I was wrong about something.

Quesadilla Joe 01-06-2013 08:40 PM

Tampa can run it, so can the Bengals. Panthers and Steelers.

And you are exaggerating the success you guys had against us week 17. We had one bad defensive series against the run early in the game and then didn't allow much the rest of the day. You rushed 28 times for 93 yards (3.3 yards per carry), with your longest run being a 13 yarder by Charles.

O.city 01-06-2013 08:42 PM

Tampa sucks, Bengals can't run it, Steelers were without their best back and the Panthers are a mess.

Quit making up shit. Every good team beat your ass this year, get ready for a quick playoff exit.

Um, no.

The Bengals and Steelers do not run the ball well. Cinci was ranked 18th and Pitt was ranked 26th in the regular season. Neither rushed for over 4.1 ypc..

Tampa is also a stretch, but I'll give you that since Martin was going off around the time that you guys played them.

So basically the only great rushing teams you faced were Houston, NE, KC, Carolina. You failed in three of those..

... And this is a bold faced lie as well.

Arian Foster went for 105 in week 3 and Stevan Ridley went for 151 week 5.

Simmer down virus. No need for facts in a Knowmo thread.

Teams that Denver held below their average rushing yardage per game:

Pittsburgh
Atlanta
Oakland (twice)
San Diego (twice)
New Orleans
Cincinnati
Carolina
Kansas City (twice)
Tampa Bay
Baltimore
Cleveland

Teams that rushed against Denver for more than their average per game:

Houston
New England

ThaVirus 01-06-2013 09:31 PM

You guys have Peyton Manning on your team..

In how many of those games did you have a 10+ point by the 2nd half?

EDIT: YPC average may be the only honest way to tell if you did a decent job or not..

Held below average YPC:

Tampa Bay
Baltimore
Kansas City

Managed to run for exactly their average YPC:

Kansas City
Oakland

Exceeded their average YPC:

Houston
New England
Cleveland (?)

Nice research there; I was too lazy to do it..

Actually having all the teams you've faced listed really proves my point though. You guys have hardly faced any great (or even good) rushing teams, and when you did, you failed (with the exception of Carolina, who you beat by more than 3 scores).

Quesadilla Joe 01-06-2013 10:23 PM

Obviously we stopped their run game enough to get up by 3 scores. Teams aren't going to be able to run on us at will. NE did, but that had more to do with the pace of their no huddle than anything. They won't be able to do that on the road and at high altitude. I also like to think we have improved greatly since week 3... You know, with that 11 game win streak and all.

FYP.

.. But yes, I reckon you may be a bit better now.
