I'm eating like a horse, and not gaining body fat. This is kinda nice.

Sweet Daddy Hate 11-17-2010 06:10 AM

Weighed in this morning at 220. FINALLY broke the ****ing wall. Off to the gym in 20 min for a back workout and MORE fat-burning mega-cardio, bitch!

Congratulations.

Interesting article on your site about the 'conventional wisdom'. I don't buy the hype about squatting to increase GH crap. All squatting has ever done for me is give me a big ass. Since I've switched to pre-exhausting with extensions, and sticking to leg press & hack squat, my quads have been growing nicely.

500 over maintenance might not be enough food to grow with the amount your probably burning playing soccer. How tall are you btw? Your 225 split squat is insanely strong if its the one i'm thinking (rear foot elevated on bench?). I have buddies that squat over 500 and cant do close to that weight in split squats.

Thanks. I expect to be a permanent 219 by the time the day is out. I seem to be losing a pound a day.
That ****ing rocks.

It hasn't been supported by scientific evidence.

Right now, I'm probably closer to 1000 over. Burning about 3k per day, eating close to 4.

And yes, that's the right exercise. They probably can't do that because they haven't developed the stabilizers that the split squat does. Strength between the two exercises doesn't carry over 100% because they are so different.

I think I'm going to try them out, any tips? Sometimes I see guys also elevate the front foot on a 6" box or so, is that needed?

Start light, and expect your ass to be so sore that you have problems getting up off of the toilet.

Elevating the front foot can allow for a greater range of motion. It allows you to dip down lower than you would normally be able to. It's not totally necessary to make the exercise good, though.

I'm close to breaking mine. Weighed in at 212 this morning. Down from 245 new years 2009, and 230 new years 2010. The real wall is going to be 200, which I won't break until 2011, but getting under 210 (and staying there - I did it for about a day during the summer...) is going to be a big deal for me.

I think the thing I'm happiest about right now is that I'm losing weight at a time of year where I traditionally pile it on.

Keep up the good fight.

Ribs baby!!! Two days in Jackson, MS will make you miss KC ribs (even if they were left over from the weekend).

Well after a shitty previous workout I felt like I got a really good one in tonight! I'll be back after it on Saturday. It's now officially fall break for me, so time to catch up on sleep and relaxation after a couple weeks of extreme stress. Hopefully it will show in the workouts. Life is good.

The Bad Guy 11-19-2010 07:57 AM

This thread is tons of good info.

I've been lazy for far too long and need to kick about 40 pounds pronto. Want to start training after Thanksgiving.

Some of your guy's journeys are amazing. Keep up the great work.

Silock 11-19-2010 08:29 AM

Start now, IMO.
