If I did my job as bad as the officials did theirs tonight I'd be fired, but of course they don't have to answer to anything.

That's because there's no real answer to that question. You've got K (the guy with the same amount of tournament wins as Self since 2004 and significantly less overall wins), Cal (the guy who had UK miss the tournament three years ago, lose in the F4 with perhaps the greatest college team ever put together last year, and lose in the R32 this year), Izzo (the guy with one less tournament win than Self and one less NCAA championship since 2004), and our old coach Roy (the guy who had UNC miss the tournament completely in 2010 while scraping in multiple other times over the past few years). Those are the best coaches in the sport and Self has a record (both in the regular season and the post season) that compares (pretty favorably) with every single one of them. Dane gets a pass on this as he barely watches the sport, but PB knows all this and chooses to still act the way he does anyway.

In addition to being tied with him in wins in the NCAA tournament in his time at Kansas, Self is also tied with the "best coach in US sports history" in losses as a higher seed since 2004 (which tends to happen when you're the only two programs that are consistently great every season). Duke and Kansas should probably just get rid of both of these chokers, though, before they can do any more damage to their brands.

Coach K has two national championships in the past 5 years and five in my lifetime. Kansas has 3, two in my lifetime, 0 in the past five years.

Kansas chokes, Duke doesn't

You've chosen a pretty arbitrary end point to make your totally illogical and baseless point, I must admit.

jimidollar 03-26-2016 11:03 PM

I don't think Self underachieves in the tournament. I think he overachieves in the regular season.

Championships are the only thing that matter. Duke has 5, Kansas has 3, hell uconn has moee than we do. We're choke artists.

OK, that might be a little harsh. I was grumpy after the loss.

Of course, if I had REALLY wanted to insult Dane, I would have said he's a worse poster than Prison Bitch.

It should be noted that none of these guys would leave those current schools.

It doesn't matter what pb says, the tournament is very hard to win , it comes down to the draw, playing perfect for 6 games, very hard to win.
