Of course the requests were done with ill intent, but they have to be the least of her problems right now.

I sort of agreed with that. Contact with her = somewhat expected. Rude and inappropriate, yes but expected. But leave her husband out of it. He's already going to feel about 2 feet tall because of the number his wife did on him. He may never have a normal relationship with a woman again.

Yes, I'm sure that the timing of her accident had nothing to do with her behavior becoming public knowledge.

I'm reasonably certain that Facebook friend requests didn't serve as the tipping point, although I admit I could be wrong. Unfortunately, we'd probably have to send her a Facebook friend request in order to ask her.

I didn't claim that they were a tipping point.

I'm merely pointing out that it is likely that IF she read them (or does read them), chances are it won't be a pleasant experience for her. Therefore, it is nasty to send them.

I have to say, this shouldn't even be an argument. If you want to make a couple jokes on here, I can't say it's nice but certainly par for the course. But someone who would find out about something like this and try to friend request the people involved on facebook, for any reason, should probably seek help. That's creepy and borderline psycho. And that's probably being nice about it.

You're making an assumption here that you have no way of knowing about.

So you were curious about the wife but wanted to be a gigantic douchebag to the husband. I get it.

Don't really have a major problem with you messing with the wife. It's sad and pathetic but I don't think you're necessarily psychotic because of it. But contacting the husband is pretty over-the-top, even for you. Dick move, 100%.

Yes, that is what an assumption is.

The person befriended is now required to share all her secrets?

I'm going to have to let my mother know this. She'll want to get rid of that account immediately.

My friend has not posted anything on her page and just watching what is going on, so yes.. You do get an inside track if you are friends with the people.. Very interesting is all I can say..

Absolutely. I'd hate to know what that guy is going through right about now.
