Traded way too much for a 29 year old game manager.
Signed a 30 year old corner that has shown obvious signs of declining ability
Signed a 29 year old receiver to a 5 year 56 million dollar contract
Signed a 31 year old punter to a deal worth over 3/yr

I'm hoping the moves work out...

Agree but smith was best option for win now mode.
Bowe is our best option had to keep
Colquitt is awesome and can pin deep what we need with smith
Dunta brings leadership and hard hitting plus hell likely be nickel back or FS

The thin I love is they're going for it. We have a window with Hali Charles DJ Bowe Flowers Albert etc

The NFL is a business.

There is no way Clark Hunt could sell a other 2-14 or 4-12 season on this fan base.

If those contracts are backloaded for when the TV money gets done and McCracken and Dorsey can get away from them isn't bad, it looks like there is a built in safety net to what they're doing. Well know when the contract details all come out.

I'm perfectly fine with Dunta Robinson being the only FA signing at CB as long as we draft a CB.

I think everybody here would be completely fine with Dunta Robinson if we drafted a Brandon Boykin or Casey Hayward to push him and take over if he starts sucking.

BossChief 03-09-2013 08:23 PM

Bowe
3/4/2013: Signed a five-year, $56 million contract. The deal contains $26 million guaranteed -- a $15 million signing bonus, Bowe's 2013 and 2014 base salaries, and $1.75 million of his 2015 salary. Bowe is eligible for annual $250,000 workout bonuses throughout the contract's life. 2013: $750,000, 2014: $8.75 million, 2015: $10.75 million, 2016-2017: $9.75 million, 2018: Free Agent
Colquitt
[x]
3/4/2013: Signed a five-year, $18.75 million contract. The deal contains $8.9 million guaranteed. 2013: $950,000, 2014-15: $2.95 million, 2016: $3.6 million, 2017: $4.05 million, 2018: Free Agent

I agree. I bet a starting caliber guy at least as good as Robinson will be available when our pick comes up for the third round and Dorsey has been able to find good mid round corners.

This is reminding me more and more of the 2000-01 offseason.

I admit this regime is reminding me of the DV regime. I just hope they can figure out how to make this defense any good.

Our DC is lackluster.

This is a depth move at best, he'll probably compete with Arenas/Brown.

He has to at least be better than Route was last year... Though that's not saying much since Route pretty much perfected playing ghost defense as teams took chunks of yardage at will by his pathetic coverage skills. See: The Atlanta game last year.

We have good nucleus of D players. We have a good coaching staff. Im more optimistic with this team than the DV era

I like our back 7 but our DL is absolute shit/unknown right now and the DL is the most important part of a defenses success.

We've got like 2 years left before DJ and Tamba start to decline.

I'm all for bringing in all these FA's as long as we draft good players.

And by good players, I mean Flowers, Bowe and Hali type players. Not Jackson, Dorsey and Arenas type of slapdicks.
