Maybe he's trolling you, but he's not wrong about this.

Okay. And I'm not overpaying. Let's just leave it at that.

I see some things regarding pre-workouts kicking in? What are those about?

I bet you are. How much are you paying? You should be paying no more than $30 for 2 lb of protein.

It's your money. Spend it however you wish! If you feel it's worth it, then more power to you.

Pre workout is just stimulants. Take some cheap caffeine pills if you want a workout boost.

Nah, no interest in pills. I just hear about and read where people post about it. I just never really looked into what the deal with it was.

If your getting stronger, your doing it right. If your gaining weight, and NOT getting stronger, your doing it wrong. Don't get so caught up in 'eat this before, eat this after' crap, just eat good whole foods and supplement with a good multi, fish oil and protein powder if you have a hard time getting enough protein in. Use a online calc to find your TDEE, and eat around that level or slightly above it, every day. You will have to track your food for a week to get a ballpark of how many cals your taking in. From there out you can probably eyeball it.

What are your stats (height/weight), lifting routine, and what you've been eating and we can better help you out.

I'm 5'10'' probably around 200-205(I haven't weighed in a while)

I've been lifting consistently heavy for about a month now. I've been working out for a few years but I've been slacking lately.

I've been eating oatmeal in the mornings mostly and I have chicken, eat alot of pasta and bread. I've been told at least a gram of protein per lb, twice the carbs per lb, and I take whey, glutamine and a test booster.

I don't really have a set lifting pattern I just try to make sure I hit every body part at least once a week. I take a rest day every 4-5 days. For a months worth of lifting, I've gotten stronger and Eve noticed a bit of a size difference. I just wanted more advice on what to eat and any other tips because I wanna make sure I'm not wasting my time and most of you guys here have more fitness knowledge.

Skip the glutamine and Test Boost. Just need Whey and Creatine monohydrate. No need to cycle to the creatine.

Hammock Parties 03-22-2014 10:19 AM

You're eating 400g of carbs a day? LMAO

I haven't even been taking creatine - let's put it out on the table here. Is this really all that needed?

I'm asking not challenging. So don't 'Do you even lift ' me, in this case.

Well all that's "natural" that's needed?....Definitely the only things proven to work are whey and creatine. Creatine is cheap as shit and works, so you should be taking it year round. Stimulants of your choice pre-workout if you choose (yes I use preworkouts). Test boosters are pretty worthless.

Other options are real Test if you choose that route. I've never used it, however.

lew I'm still not clear on what Creatine does - is it ONLY for energy?

Yes. It helps you do more work in the gym. You get a little more intense workout with it.
