The Alex-only dudes need to come to terms with the simple fact that Alex got a fair shake and it didn't work out with a fairy tale ending. There was a window of opportunity and it's closed. Period. There will be a major turnover next season and Alex is only a part of that.

I don't know, and I don't care right now. We've got an entire offseason to see what changes are made to the roster and staff before predictions mean shit.

But I do know this. If and when they do make the playoffs with Patrick in the future, we'll have a damn chance to advance deep into the tournament. Because The Kid will elevate his teammates.

Will the messiah carry the broken defense you now finally acknowledge (yes you're the guy who blame Smith for everything and anything without objectively shifting blame to the defense)

Convenient you don't want to talk about QB records when it doesn't fit your narrative.

2 Attachment(s)
You have to look into the splits to see where the issue is though.

https://www.pro-football-reference.c...3/splits/2017/

The first attachment is "Downs" and "Yards to go" (not related to each other). 3rd down, he's only completing 59.42%, huge drop from 1st and 2nd downs, with 68.93% and 75.27%, respectively. I find it funny (or sad) on yards to go (7-9) that his Y/A is a paltry 5.4. No wonder why KC is average on 3rd downs at a 39.2% clip, 14th in the NFL.

The 2nd attachment is "Game Situations". Highlighted on those images is pretty telling for this attachment. Trailing with <2 min to go or <4 min to go, those numbers don't look good, with a Cmp% of 53.57% and 52.38% with a QB rating of 55.7 and 59.5. What's funny is.... no touchdowns.

Yea you avoided the question.

Tap out acknowledged.

Except it was overthrown - Wilson barely got his fingertips on it. That ball is caught MAYBE 1/10 times in that situation. Sure, it was close, but overthrown nonetheless.

Give us a prediction on next year's record then if Patty is in charge

I will go on the record, and already have.

This team will win at least as many games next season as they did this season.
They are trimming all the fat and dead weight this offseason and putting it into the trenches.

I will also go on the record and say Mahomes will win more games than whatever team Alex goes to, regardless of what team Alex is traded to.

I would take Dak Prescott over the likes of Stafford and Eli in a heartbeat. Again I will say it. Alex Smith is not a Top 5 QB of all-time. Comparing him to the likes of Rodgers or Peyton Manning is laughable.

Let’s go there... Alex Smith’s first NFL start, October 9, 2005, 49ers hosting the Colts... Alex’s stat line: 9-23, 74 yards, 0 TD’s, 4 INT’s, sacked 5 times, with an 8.4 QB rating.

Any Alex Smith Apologist who wants to criticize Mahomes’ performance during his first start, should look at Alex’s first NFL start.

Case closed.

I'd double down on this.

Yesterday wasn't just a loss. It was the end of a miserable era of QB retread Chiefs football. In that sense, yesterday was a win. I think we'll see that in time.

Veach is going to kick ass this offseason, I believe in him. We're going to fix the defense enough to be a really good team, because the offense is already extremely talented. Patrick will take full advantage of the spectacular situation he is being thrusted into. And if someone gets hurt? NEXT MAN UP, Patrick Mahomes is ready to make you look like a star (looking at you Albert Wilson).

Bring on the Golden Era.

20 NFL coaches would kill to have Alex Smith right now.

CP wants to rush a kid with a 44% win record in college into a tough 2018 schedule thinking he is the messiah

I say let them fight.

That's a lot of sunshine pumping. I am mainly just curious to see what they do with the roster on defense. That was a shitshow defensive meltdown on Saturday and doesn't seem like something you can fix in a snap of a finger.

It all depends on the moves made...

The Saints were the NFL equivalent of Texas Tech on defense for the past few years, but all of the sudden this year they are a top 10 unit.

9 wins is "sunshine pumping" ?

This team is going to benefit huge from addition by subtraction.
-Hali
-DJ
-Smith
-Revis
-Bailey
-Ford

30M to play with to add a couple mid to high end fat guys and or a nice CB opposite of 22.

This team will be more well rounded when they arent paying players top dollar 5 years past their prime.

kcpasco 01-07-2018 10:32 PM

I’d take DJ back in a backup role
