Draft Miles Boykin.

He’s as fragile as it gets. I’d be so pissed off if we were stupid enough to draft that guy at 29.

Very similar problem there though I think Brown's a little smoother in/out of breaks; a little more sudden than Isabella.

The Isabella love has been a bit weird to me. I like him, but I do think he's a niche kind of guy.

Hill is just a damn unicorn. I mean, the dude is what, 5'10 and can run that fast and dunk a basketball. He's the prototype WR in Andy's offense especially with the dude they have under center.

This sucks.

I could definitely endorse this. Could be a hell of a get in the 3rd round. I could see them pulling the same thing they did with Conley where the WR draft board starts to clear out a bit and they make a move to get up and grab Boykin in the 3rd.

There's just not a likely middle ground with the guy. He's a big-time boom/bust candidate, IMO.

Isabella is tiny, man.

I know a cottage industry has sprung up around the 'hey, just because he's white doesn't mean he's just a slot guy!!" narrative, but the white thing isn't the problem.

The 'being 5'9'', 190 lbs' thing is the problem.

And I get that Hill's not that much taller and he may not be heavier, but the dude is built like a tank and that's how he can take some of the really solid shot's he taken while trying to extend himself to catch balls. Isabella isn't that sturdy; he'll get broken in half.

And you just cannot overstate how dynamic Hill's speed is. Isabella is fast, no doubt, but he's not Hill. And he's not quite as quick. You can't just take someone that's a little smaller, a little slower and a little less sudden than Hill and say "eh, he's close, he'll do..."

The combination of all those things may just make him a complementary player at best. Maybe he overcomes all that but there are a lot of WRs in this draft I'd take over him.

But this is exactly why I'd take Isabella in the 2nd instead of someone like Brown in the first.

Exactly.

People are looking for some kind of Hill clone and those damn guys just don't exist. Someone being 90% of all the things Hill is doesn't mean that guy's gonna be 90% the WR Hill is. That's probably 50% the WR Hill is. He's just such a unique guy that looking at his skill sets and seeing some guys that get pretty close doesn't do much.

I was pondering Isabella with one of my 2nds and just didn't see it.

I'm not at all looking for a Hill clone. Andy Isabella just screams "Patriots". Imagine what Mahomes could do with a shifty, speedy possession receiver?

I don't think i'd look for a guy if I'm out to find a "Hill skillset". I'd just chalk that up to being a one time kinda thing, similar to Mahomes, and just look for a wr I liked.

You just aren't gonna find that and it's gonna be a pretty big blow to the offense if he's gone. As much as myself and others think "well Mahomes" that ain't the case with Hill.

They definitely need a chain mover, slot type guy.

I'm just not keen on spending a 2nd rounder on that.

Go find a Watkins clone for this offense.

That may be easier to find, but damn, I was actually looking at his measurments the other day.

That dude was a freak.

Absolutely.

Maybe. It will be a loss. I'm not sure it's a crusher though. QBs like Mahomes can make chicken salad out of chicken you-know-what. Just get him some talent and they'll be fine, even without Hill.

I'm not suggesting that would be my first choice in the 2nd round, either. I'm just saying I'd prefer that to spending a 1st on a guy like Brown or trading multiple picks to get up for a guy like Metcalf.

And all of that is why I wouldn't do either of those things. Give me McLaurin or Boykin in the 3rd over both of those options. I may even prefer Mecole Hardman. Emanuel Hall may be there in the 3rd, Riley Ridley, Paris Campbell, Debo Samuel.

I'd sit tight through the first 2 rounds if you're talking about Isabella as a 2nd rounder. If AJ Brown somehow fell that far or maybe even N'Keal Harry - I might jump. But I just don't see a good value fit likely in the 2nd.

I think you're wildly underestimating the impact Hill has on the offense. Mahomes is good, sure. But he's not been asked to ever make chicken salad here.

He's had filet all around him at his skill spots and i'm not sure I want to start subtracting them that quick
