How is Mahomes even walking on that ankle? Romo said he would be "almost on crutches by Wednesday."

No, but they are sufficient to have this offense scoring points at a greater clip than any other team in the league and they aren't the reason KC has lost to the Bengals three times in a row.

Well, Mahomes is the best in the league at mitigating pressure. When healthy.

The magic clearly hasn’t waned, but something is amiss from the pocket. One might ask why Week 13 was so arbitrarily used as the cutoff in the above table. The answer? That's when Kansas City faced its upcoming conference championship opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Since then, Mahomes has been very ordinary when dropping straight back and throwing from the pocket. The Chiefs' approach appears to have become far more conservative, too. There are struggles at wide receiver, as well as a declining amount of man coverage being played against Kansas City since that Bengals game.

If recent trends hold, there will be many nervous onlookers waiting to see if Mahomes’ injury hampers his seemingly unstoppable improvisational skills. If that is the case, then we will see a battle of two quarterbacks dueling from the pocket. The difference between them? Mahomes has struggled of late from there, while Joe Burrow is currently the best pocket passer the league has to offer.

I wonder how much of those grades are a function INTs against the Broncos and nothing more?

Remember when everybody used to say that it was Mahomes that made life hard on his tackles??? These 8,9 yard drops he used to take regularly was mostly just him trying to buy himself an extra second or two before he got smashed. Watch WASP

You do realize the fact they can do that and it still generates pressure is a MASSIVE indictment on both OTs, right?

As much as I love our interior OL men, and dislike out tackles. It should be an indictment on the whole OL that 5 can’t find a way to block 3, and keep Mahomes clean.

It's also an indictment on the interior offensive line that they can't get a push for the Chiefs to pick up a yard or an inch on those 3rd and short plays.

The entire offensive line needs to step up big on Sunday. Three Pro Bowl players on the line, the Chiefs have invested a lot in the line... time to show up on Sunday.

Only the "smart" people who think they know more than everyone.

Well, the IOL can't really break off and go help the OTs not get obliterated without running the serious risk of a spy coming in untouched and wrecking the play

i hate our tackles as much as the next guy, but the pressures allowed as a raw number is so stupid. the chiefs are a passing team. mahomes threw it 650 times. both tackles played every game.

a handful of teams threw fewer than 500 times. more than 1/3rd of the league had 110 fewer pass attempts.

it should be pressures allowed divided by pass attempts. i guarantee both tackles, as much as i hate them, would come out looking better than they do.

Yeah...this "worst tackle play in the NFL" crap is exactly that. And a big portion of the fanbase latched onto it.

We already did that exercise too. 46th and 47th out of 54 qualifiers.
