What’s telling to me is that this can be viewed as a 2-year extension for $27.25M per year or a three year deal at $24.8M per year. Either is fair since he’s due to make $20M this year. Veach is trying to get CJ to help the team by making it a new 3-year deal but he wants to pretend he isn’t already under contract for this year and seems to want $28M all three years.
