http://fox4kc.com/2012/12/06/man-shoots-girlfriend-in-the-back-over-zombie-dispute/ Man Shoots Girlfriend In the Back Over Zombie Dispute Posted on: 6:24 am, December 6, 2012, by Jason M. Vaughn HEMPSTEAD, New York — A Long Island man faces second-degree attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot his girlfriend in the back after a heated argument over zombies. According to AM New York, Jared M. Gurman, 26, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, but his lawyer did acknowledge that Gurman shot his girlfriend, 27-year-old Jessica Gelderman, in the back with a .22-caliber semi-automatic rifle during the early-morning hours on Monday. Police say that the bullet pierced Gelderman’s lung and diaphragm and shattered her ribs. She remains in stable condition at a Long Island hospital. The argument, police say, started when Gurman and Gelderman – who had been dating for over three years – had a disagreement over the AMC television show The Walking Dead, and whether or not the scenarios depicted in the show could ever happen in real life. “I just know that he felt very adamant that there could be some type of military mishap that would result in some sort of virus or something being released that could cause terrible things to happen,” said Nassau Det. Lt. Raymond Cote, who added that Gelderman thought her boyfriend’s beliefs were “ridiculous.” The argument escalated through the evening via text messaging. When Gelderman returned to Gurman’s apartment to calm him down, police say that Gurman pointed the rifle and fired a shot into Gelderman’s back as she climbed the stairs. Gurman is being held without bond. |

And besides, if this guy REALLY believed that some virus spread was imminent, he would have capped his girlfriend in the head, because you HAVE to kill the brain. |

The local shops around here are taking advantage of the shows popularity and raising the prices on back issues. So I find ebay cheaper. Most of them are now offering free shipping also. I bought the hard cover volumes starting with #1 on amazon. You can find cheap used ones there. Hope this helped. |

I'm gonna march down there and bang maggie.:evil: |
I'm halfway thru the first compendium.
Michone....oh Michone.......she is gonna **** somebody up man! I can't wait to see how she gets her revenge! Lori - she is a bigger bitch in the book than on the show! now I understand why she was cast as such a despicable waste of flesh. she's still alive so far in the book....I hope that baby eats it's way out of her. MWAAAAHAHAHA! |
Was finally able to find an online stream to catch up on all the latest episodes.
This season blows the last two away. Holy hell. |
Black and white, for more of the comic book feel.. Interdasting.....
'The Walking Dead': AMC To Air Drama In Black & White "The Walking Dead" is getting a new look. THR reports that the AMC drama will air in black and white, beginning in February. The 90-minute premiere, airing Feb. 14, will be the first black-and-white episode. The midseason premiere will pick up where the show left off in December. The zombie drama, which is known for excessively bloody scenes, has been a strong show for AMC, receiving positive critical reception and increasing ratings. AMC will air "The Walking Dead" in black and white starting Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. EST. |
That would be cool to see, but I don't know. All the episodes?

Not sure I like that.

Do not want black and white....maybe they can sell us the soundtrack on 8 track tape too!

Yea, I'm guessing that by the show starting at 6:30 EST it is re-runs, because new episodes air at 9 EST.

Theres a difference between black and white photography and color photography...lighting etc.... |
Quote:
|
Could they be doing this in black and white due to the amount of blood and or gore that will soon be shown?
I ask this because didn't Tarantino have the same issue in Kill Bill Vol 1 where The Bride is Killing the Crazy 88's in the bar? The MPAA said they had to tone down the blood so He changed the color to Black and White.....wait I found it.. Black and white (as well as black and red), were used to conceal the shedding of blood from television censors. Originally, no black and white photographic effects were going to be used (and in the Japanese version none are), but the MPAA demanded measures be taken to tone the scene down. |

What I've read right now is that it's all of season one and the first half of season 2. |
Good news/Bad news:

Interesting....not sure how i feel? I thought he made the series alot more entertaining and fun this season. Basically it didnt drag as much.
IM wondering if AMC wants to bring the pace back down again and focus on more character work? |

Glen,"I do not want you to kill me next season, if you want to kill me I quit."

Really, I think they can find plenty of people to write the scripts.
|
I thought it was pretty messed up when they canned Darabont. That said, the pilot was amazing and everything after was meh. Then AMC cut the budget despite it being a hit for them.
Mazzarra really turned around the 2nd half of S2 and S3 was on another level to this point. A little disturbing that they either pushed him elsewhere for monetary reasons or he felt like it was necessary. It's pretty much the biggest (non-NFL) cable show of all time. Not sure how you let that walk away. |

Sorry, I just heard the name "Glenn". FAIL |
If anything, I'd assume Lennon is most responsible for then first two seasons. So, bye.
|
february is not that far away, my kiddies!!!
|
At it's slowest pace or fastest pace......WD is still better than 90% of the drivel on tv.
So I'll take it either way! |
It's weird how 2 guys have left the show but as long as the have talented writers i just hope it doesnt hurt the show. Character development would be nice some on the newer guys
|
AMC does not seem to be a happy place to run a show. Have they ever gotten along with the creative side of one of their hits?
But, it all depends on who they bring in. Mazzara wasn't the soul of the show by any means. As long as they hear the fans, "Back to the farm! We want fewer zombies and more talk therapy!" |
is it that they dont get along with AMC or is it Robert Kirkman creator of the comics. Darabont and Mazzera have both moved on, but this guy is still there.

So I started watching the Walking Dead game on Youtube the other day. It seemed pretty cool and at this point, any Walking Dead is better than no Walking Dead.
.. But what console is it for? Where can you find it? Would I just be better watching it on Youtube or is it something I should play for myself? (They say the game changes based on every choice you make so I'm intrigued...) |

The trade paperbacks (book of 6 issues) is about $10 to $15 each. I have the first 15 trade paperbacks, which works out to 90 issues, and I've spent probably about $120 total. I need to get caught up though, I haven't read the comic in a while and I got spoiled on a major plot point. It pisses me off when someone just spoils something for you without thinking. Basically a co-worker, who doesn't even read the comics said, "Yeah be prepared in the show because in the comic ____________ dies." |
I finished "Apocalypse Z" a few days ago, and I am about 60 pages into "World War Z" right now.
So far, "Apoc" is 10 times better. I am not digging the interview type reading. |
Alright, now I am a 1/3 through WWZ, and it is awesome.
Running zombies in the movie is stupid. If they match the book, it would have been great. |

I guess the 28 Days Later version of the zombie plays better on the big screen? |
I think that we dug into that WWZ issue somewhere on this board.
A lot of us weren't sure how well it would translate to the big screen. It's a kick ass book but would that format make a kick ass movie? Apocalypse Z just got added to my Amazon Wish List. |

Also, I mentioned earlier that I had checked out the Walking Dead video game on Youtube. I watched every bit of Episode 2 last night. The shit is pretty damn good; like watching the show...
