We have an extra 2nd
What the hell would you not do this for? |

Trade the Rams pick. Basically swap Marcus Peters for Earl Thomas

If he doesn’t trade that 2nd and then proceeds to draft a bunch of project players....then Veach can go **** himself.
|
Veach is trying to see if he can get a bargain as it gets closer to the trade deadline.
Just give up the 2nd.. |

Ya, I hope he doesn’t get undercut

Veach is playing with fire. Our 2nd round picks aren’t even that valuable. They very well may be #31 and #32.
|
The Seahawks aren’t budging.
Another shittier team will come a long and offer a better 2nd round pick and we’ll be ****ed. |
Only way this is excusable is if Thomas is telling teams he's only signing a long term deal with Dallas.
|
A 2nd for an All Pro and the deal isn't done ROFL Suuuuure

Yep, exactly as I expected - compensation is the issue. We'll pay ET if we can agree on that.
The Seahawks supposedly declined the Cowboys' 2nd and that pick is going to be worse than ours. I'm not sure I completely believe this report, but if it is accurate, that's ****ing annoying. I bet they want to see how the D does with Berry first, but **** that, you get a player as good as ET if he's available regardless. |
Think of it like this:
Chiefs trade: Marcus Peters 2018 6th round pick (John Franklin Myers?) Chiefs get: Earl Thomas 2018 4th round pick. (Armani Watts?) Assuming you can extend Thomas, it seems pretty good to me. |
if it really is just one 2nd round pick like that report indicates then **** you Brett Veach. It should have been done at the beginning of the week and he would be playing against Denver.
|
Ian Rapoport said Seattle is seeking 2 2nds
|
Rappaport saying they want 2 2nd round picks
|
The Seahawks aren’t coming any lower. They have the perfect scenario. They can continue to fine gun and make money off his contract back and he still plays in games.

2 2nds isn't all that bad.

I don’t think Seattle really wants to trade him
These teams have no idea how to handle these situations. Earl, leveon etc. |

Alright, I see what Veach is doing now then.
Chiefs are in the drivers seat. They have the most ammo. |
Explains why they turned Dallas’s one 2nd down.
With how KC has drafted in round 2 lately, I think I’d do 2nd and 2020 conditional 3 |

Take our 2nd and a conditional 3rd next year and be ****ing happy.

2nd and 4th
Oh, how we'd really miss the next Tanoh/Armani  |

It does seem like they may end up moving him though. The problem asking that much is he needs a new contract as well.
If someone is offering a 2nd plus, take it and be done |
Seattle wants 2 2s for Thomas
Steelers want 2nd and a good player for Bell Steep asking prices |
No doubt the hangup is the contract negotiations.
Earl wants the highest safety contract in league history. To me, he’s worth it. He’s been durable, dependable and is a game changer. Mahomes and this offense are going to force opposing teams to throw it a lot and keep up with our scoring. Having a difference making ball hawk at safety is a great investment. |
No one will give anything close to 2 2nds. If they're not budging, they probably don't want to trade him and are just putting on appearances for Thomas to shut him up.

I'd bet anything they'll take the best offer they have on the table on Oct 30. |

My friend who knows a guy who knows how to use twitter says that Earl Thomas could be coming to KC or he might go to another team or just stay in Seattle.

Also, Schefter says the compensation is a 2nd for Earl. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...on-earl-thomas |

You're right. They don't usually let players talk money until compensation is agreed on |

I suppose draft position might be why Seattle doesn't want to accept just a second from us?
|
I remember reading a few days ago that KC was talking contract with Earl, but Schefter said an hour ago that KC didn’t want to trade a 2, so those reports were probably wrong. Schefter is 100% credible.

Don't know if I ever shared this story but...
I saw Earl Thomas at a grocery store in Seattle couple months . I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly. Posted via Mobile Device |
I’m up to 80/20 that KC gets him

The more I think about it, the more I’d be inclined to give them a second and fourth for ET.
That would mean that we turned Peters and a 6th round pick into Earl Thomas. If Peters was not going to re-sign with us, then that sounds like a great deal. We also know that there were potential locker room concerns with Peters. He also didn’t have a flawless game, even though he was an elite ball hawk. |

Seattle sitting back 'knowing' our 2ndary will continue to wane even more as our offense continues to light it up. Seattle sitting in the catbird seat i.e. to ET and our desperate need at safety for a SB run. |
