There is no logical reason why Manning would sign with the Broncos. They lack WR's... their idiot fans would still be chanting for Tebow... he would be playing outdoors in the snow where it's hard to breath... they have a couple of bright spots on their DL, but that's about it.

This is an interesting point. I'm not sure if it would help or hurt our (or any team, for that matter) chances of having him land here. Litening to his presser, he got pretty choked up talking about the good times in Indy, and he made a point to say how he appreciated everyone in the organization, all the way down to the equipment managers. It would be curious to hear his take on potentially facing his team again THIS season.

agreed, but unlike many players/agent relationships I think Manning is really the one in control of the situation.

Manning will pick a team and then condon with have a certain about of time to squeeze for money. I think Manning will want to get it done early so he can help design the offense etc.

FWIW, a colleague mine who's a huge Colt's fan and follows the team closely, says he is 80% sure Manning will be wearing a Chief's uniform next year.

He's basing that on all the talk during the last 3-4 months, as well as his impression of what he thinks is the best "fit" for Manning given his years in Indy. Don't know if it really means anything, but he's been right a number of other times in his hunch about all things Colts. Guess we'll see...
