Here's the truth: I was actually nominated to be a mod. While I would have accepted if I had been selected, I didn't lobby for the gig.

It's one thing to be "controversial" as a forum member but something completely different as a mod. Considering the forum's attitude towards many of the former mods (who I think are all great people), selecting me as a mod at this point wouldn't have been the wisest decision.

I have total faith in the new Mod Squad and while everyone won't be happy with every decision, I think the moderation will be very fair.

I was totally ****ing around about being almost voted in as as Mod.

I'm shifty like that Mr. McCloud.

And you honestly would have been a good Mod, IMO.
