I probably should've gone with Allen with my #2 overall because there's starting caliber CB talent still on the board (though I do think the Day 1 starters have finally largely dried up after 2 1/2 rounds).
The Chiefs definitely have no cause to go CB in the 1st round. There is a ton of them available.

That's why I went with Tim Williams.
I saw him as equal in talent to a handful of other defenders, but I saw him as the last "super high upside" type rushbacker where I could count more than 3 CBs that I really liked. Plus, anytime you can draft what's arguably the best pass or second best pass rusher in college football as well as arguably the QB with the highest upside...you aren't screwing things up too terribly.
I'm trying to keep the big picture in mind and maximize the value of each pick.
