Apocalypse Z is a book written in diary form, but it reads almost as 1st person real-time.

It is also set in Spain, which at first I thought would be a bad thing, but it ended up adding a lot of cool elements that a zombie book based in the US wouldn't present.

I definately recommend it. It would make for a pretty sweet movie, too.

That sounds a bit like a book I skimmed through and almost bought once. I want to say it was called Day By Day Armageddon. Ever heard of it?

Day by Day Armageddon is my favorite of all the zombie books I have read. The author, J L Bourne is active duty officer in the Navy and it shows in his writing. The book is written in the form of a personal journal and it is a bit dry. The details are a bit sparse at times too. Still, the writing is very gritty and the story is the most plausible zombacalypse scenario I have read. DBDA is better than all the variations of Romero zombie theme type books IMHO. if you buy the Day by Day book, go ahead and get the two pack that has Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile included.

HINES WARD WILL PLAY A ZOMBIE ON THE WALKING DEAD

After playing a zombie on NBC's Sunday Night Football set for 17 weeks, Hines Ward is about to take that role to AMC (rim shot?)

The former Pittsburgh Steeler and developing broadcaster will appear as a zombie extra on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead on Feb. 10, courtesy of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Ward got hooked up with the role by IronE Singleton, who played with Ward at Georgia and also plays the role of T-Dog on the show.

"A former Georgia teammate of mine is one of the stars of the show, and my agent thought it would be something fun and different for me to do," he told the Post-Gazette. NFL Films Presents also went behind the scenes with Hines Ward, detailing his transformation from NFL analyst to playing the undead.

"It was an amazing experience," Ward said. "Just being in makeup preparing me for my role was cool. I actually scared myself when I looked in the mirror for the first time after."

Whoa.

I watched the scene in the first season which Rick and Glenn are covered in Zombie slime lat night.

They walked through crowds of Zombies toward a construction sight. When they took off running, some zombies started running, too!

One even climbed a fence.

Running Zombies, Fence climbers......

WTF?!

They kind of explained that in the after show. I think it was Kirkman. At least about the running something like the more they are the faster they can be or someshit like that. He gave a more in depth explanation on it, but it was over a year ago, so i dont remember word for word.

Ya, even the first episode Morgan says to Rick " I know one on one they don't seem like much, but if you get them in a group all riled man, you better watch your ass."

It's a group/hive mind mentality.

notorious 02-05-2013 08:20 AM

OK, they really laid off the running and fence climbing zombies in season 2.

I had a nice chuckle when I watched that episode. LMAO

I would have thought that the Gov killed the old people and their caretakers and took the guns in Atlanta when the found Merle, but Rick still had the bag when they were walking out of Atlanta. (Season One).

for a bit. plays on for awhile. but in a tv show, it's gonna seem magnified.

but seriously, dude just lost his wife. i would think most men would/could go a little mental if they lost a spouse. especially if the rest of the world was going down the toilet at the same time.

they definitely started off with a bang. just gonna get worse from here on out.

not to forget the baby. Even though it may have not been his, in his mind he was going to father that child. Combine that with all the weight on his shoulders to keep the group alive. Its alot.

I wish it was closer to the comics too, but I don't think certain events (like Michonne's experience with the governor) would have translated well to tv with the show being on AMC.

Absolutely. I've never been a comic fan and when I picked up the walking dead I couldn't stop reading it. I read the first compendium which is a little more than 1000 pages in less than 24 hours.

HOLY ****ING SHIT

The Walking Dead’ Returns With Record-Breaking 12.3M Viewers
By DOMINIC PATTEN

AMC’s The Walking Dead returned last night from its third-season break with 12.3 million viewers, a series high for the zombie apocalypse drama. Up against the Grammys, the 9 PM midseason premiere pulled in 7.7 million viewers among Adults 18-49, a basic-cable record for a series and up 6% from the show’s previous high for its October 14 season premiere. In total, 16.6 million viewers watched Walking Dead last night combining the 9 PM premiere and 11 PM, midnight and 2 AM encores on AMC. The series was back Sunday for the last eight episodes of its third season after a break of more than two months.

The big numbers Sunday come after a record-breaking third season so far that saw the show pull in a massive 10.9 million Live+Same Day total viewers for its October 14 premiere, which bested all other telecasts cable and broadcast. The Walking Dead’s midseason finale on December 2 garnered 10.5 million viewers in its 9 PM time slot and 15.2 million for the entire night with encores. The Walking Dead’s Season 3 series average in the 18-49 demo is ahead of the averages for big network shows like The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and NCIS.

Walking Dead was renewed for a fourth season late last year. That season is expected to begin in October, according to series executive producer Gale Anne Hurd.

They couldn't just hint at her reaction though. I couldn't see a way to do that whole interaction justice on network tv.

Fun episode. Didn't really buy Daryl running off with Merle so quick. Considering everything they have shown with the growth in his character. It's basically just a plot device to create tension. (You know he's coming back)

Why would Andrea stay at Woodbury at this point? That didn't make sense to me either??
