Bye Bye |
Good night of baseball Friday and good day of baseball today....except for the losing.
They had the World Series trophy presentation at the game today along with raising the World Championship flag out in center field. It was the Royals first home spring training game so it is the only game they plan on doing this for. The mayor of KC was there to throw out the first pitch. Very neat to see. Friday Night baseball is the best. Lean back Cain http://i.imgur.com/WwJY4Jz.jpg?1 Dick Enberg is still alive?!?! http://i.imgur.com/PWIA3ph.jpg?1 Nice seats Lewdog http://i.imgur.com/gL22WuW.jpg?1 Still throwing gas. Although I heard his velocity was down? Have a video but don't know how to post it here. http://i.imgur.com/lnjej0Z.jpg?1 Trophy Presentation http://i.imgur.com/fJDio77.jpg?1 Championship flag on left http://i.imgur.com/xInRus4.jpg?1 Trophy in the flesh. http://i.imgur.com/BfsL9Hy.jpg?1 |

John Sleezer is a good follow on twitter if you want Royals spring training pics.

Bubba needs to start picking up the pace. 0 /9 so far in Spring. It is still way early, but not what you want to see from a #5 pick in the draft.
Moose showing some early power today! I hope we see a lot more of that this year!! |
Fuentes walked twice and stole a base today. I bet he makes the team.
Good starts from Medlen and Zimmer, too. |

My buddy bought a pair of tickets to Opening Night for $180 per in the upper deck. Someone who knows tickets better than I do: Are they going to drop the day of or is this about as low as they'll get?
I'd really like to go, but if they're going to drop significantly, I'll wait and buy a few for myself later. Thanks! |
I bet they go up on opening day. I already have tickets to every bobble head game and a couple other giveaway nights. You can get some really cool free stuff at some of these.

Marlins lose Carter Capps to TJ, possible closer for them. Any ideas on dangling a bullpen arm at them in an Ozuna package?

In addition to the alleged DUI, which Yahoo Sports could not immediately verify, police in Washington County, Ark., arrested Denney on Dec. 7, 2013 for disorderly conduct, minor in possession of alcohol and littering after witnessing him throw a bottle of Malibu Black Rum into oncoming traffic, according to a police report. The bottle, the report said, narrowly missed a vehicle. The arrest marks the second consecutive spring a Boston prospect has been in trouble with the law. Last March, Red Sox pitching prospect Drake Britton was arrested for DUI after driving 111 mph in a 45-mph zone, hopping a curb and ending up caught in a barbed-wire fence. When asked for his license, Britton gave the police a debit card. I seen that episode of COPS it was a dandy alright. |
I'm thinking of resurrecting RoyalsPlanet... anyone interested?

I cannot wait for the Royal's season to start. For all of my adult life, baseball season signaled that winter has come and gone, and the cold with it. The weather turns warmer, and the grass turns green again. The start of a new season is symbolic; one, the Royals season, brings about new hope and all the joy that comes with baseball. The other, spring itself, getting warmer as the baseball season progresses and cycles all the way to cool October air, is intertwined with baseball. Adults like us who were once kids like us remember April as the start of something beautiful, a confluence of events that made this time of year incredibly exciting.
And that was when the Royals were bad. This year is different, in a number of ways. In Texas, winter doesn't put up much of a fight between summer and spring. I no longer get a summer vacation, and I'm getting older as the day goes on. But the excitement of this season makes trumps the excitement of last season's start, which trumped every season start for 30 years. I cannot wait. |
Anyone want two tickets to opening day - 138 (Royals dugout) Row J for $375 apiece? Still much lower than stubhub.
I bought a ticket for me and my buddy and then he informs me his wife is going too. He thought it was implied. |

Couple of interesting things:
In Mesa yesterday, my brother and his son were at the Cubs park for the game. When Ben Zo was introduced, the Royals contingent in the park gave him a standing O. Today, at the end of an inning in Orlando Calixte had the ball after the final out of the half inning, my brother called out to him to toss the ball up. He did, into the waiting hands of my nephew. ST is greatest time on earth. |
Had fun at the game today. Mondesi tossed me a ball. I aged 40 years with how many old people were there. Never seen so many tucked in t-shirts. Fun times. Bees galore lol

I don't know. The megathread is great and terrible at the same time. You get all your Royals bits in one nice, streamline. But, on the other hand, you also get a fair amount of banter you may or may not want. Perhaps the subforum is the healthiest compromise. There is probably insufficient activity to warrant a whole new site, imo.

30$ seats in Surprise
4 Attachment(s)
Can't beat the spring training experience with 30$ seats from the third row of Section 105 with plenty of Missour-uh hillbilly's in attendance.
Ace was pitching BP in the 1st, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits but recovered and by the third he was making the Brewers look silly at 97 mph. Kelvin & Wade were awesome to see up close working it. Gordo went 4/4, the last one at least a 425 bomb straight away. Attached thumb is the fist pump going back in the dugout. In the photo below, Rob Riggle & wifey share a whisper while George Brett, Pedro, Ned and the Nascar driver Bowyer look on. Oh, and there was an Infante sighting... he looks in shape. Got to see Mondesi mash a 2 out double that went a long way into the gap, kid looks like he put on a few pounds since the WS. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/pictu...pictureid=1766 |
